Why the fuck are these people continously allowed to change the voting requirements just days or weeks before an election?

This is fucking ridiculous.
Republicans are allowed to hate over half the country without being called on it.

The Daily Show is really a strange thing. I honestly think they tell so much more truth than any of the other media outlets, they just do it through ridicule and mockery.

...but at the same time they are not at all a news outlet and don't try to be...

I don't know how to classify it, but they fucking get it.

That McCain speech comparison was creepy as hell :lol :lol

Can I ask why?

Dude, it's "McCain's last stand!"

Here's why:

McCain vs. Obama I: No one really knocked the other out but Obama was declared the winner.

Palin vs. Biden: Biden won but Palin made no real gaffes. Yawn.

McCain vs. Obama II: See McCain vs. Obama I.

Not expecting much this time either.

McCain talked all kinds of crap of how he is gonna take Obama behind the woodshed.

It will dissolve into both stump speeching the same talking points they did the last two times.

He'll raise taxes, I won't.

He'll give tax breaks to rich oil companies.

F all this. Been there, you know the rest. I don't need anymore convincing.

Is it November 4th yet?

all Obama has to do is this:

Please, Democrats are no fucking different. You can go into the last thread and find tons of hate against red necks or religious people. I find it laughable to claim either party can claim the high road.

Fixed for accuracy's sake.

I only have the last eight years to work off of, but on the national scene at large, Democrats don't actively suppress voter turnout. Democrats don't infuse their politics with fundie-christian religulousness. Democrats don't yell "KILL JOHN MCCAIN" at rallies or try to make him out to be a terrorist.

Democrats are many people under one umbrella.
Republicans are much less diverse, joined by Christianity and rural America. Granted, there are outliers, but the exceptions PROVE the rule by needing to be pointed out.

That's why it's easier to single Republicans out.

Frumm is that you? Cause that was one hell of a failure at creating a legitimate equivalency.

On Republicans generally trying to keep people from voting I agree. Despicable. While I have no doubt that the Democrats are ok with a little cheating as well, the way the right almost gleefully goes about their way of doing it is downright disgusting. No argument there.

I agree on the second part as well but I don't think that's actually a win for Democrats. I am an aethiest here, but I'd much prefer something stupid like the 10 Commandments being displayed in a courtroom opposed to some of the things Democrats are for. I see no difference between an ideological extreme or a religious extreme, they're both extremes to me. I'd like to see them both go.

But my point wasn't about which party had more religious foolery or which was more sinister in their dealings but that each party, hopefully, thinks they're the right party and hates the other side and thinks they're idiots for not siding with them.

edit: Byakuya769 eh, not really since according to most on here, that's all that the Republican party is made up of.

Rush Limbaugh loses it:

We thought that it was just liberal welfare policies and all that that kept blacks from progressing while other minorities grew and prospered, but no, it is these wackos from Bill Ayers to Jeremiah Wright to other anti-American Afrocentric black liberation theologists with ACORN, and Barack Obama is smack dab in the middle of it, they have been training young black kids to hate, hate, hate this country, and they trained their parents before that to hate, hate, hate this country. It was a movement. It was a Bill Ayers, anti-capitalist, anti-American educational movement. ACORN is how it was implemented, right under our noses. They're doing far more, folks, than just cheating when it comes to elections and registration. They are in deep in this mortgage crisis. ACORN and Obama and Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, the Democrat Party, have their fingerprints all over the subprime mortgage crisis. The whole concept of affordable housing was people that can't afford a mortgage are going to get one, because America is unfair.

It has been a movement, it has been a religion, and Obama and Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers were all up to their big ears in it.

My absentee ballot arrived in the mail yesterday. Gonna mail it in Thursday.

I'm in FLA and I sent away for my absentee ballot a week and half ago and still haven't got it yet. How long does this shit normally take? :(

Wow, republican pundits see their castle crashing down on them and are freaking out about it.

Democrats are different by definition of the positions they hold and support.

Liberalism values fairness, equality, empathy.

What people do tend to conflate is the liberal hate for certain positions and values... and the people that hold them.

We have plenty of religious among our ranks (yes even on poligaf). Hell, our champion is a religious man through and through.

You may find it laughable to that either party can claim the high road. History will find it laughable, your attempts at bringing parity, to two wholly unequal (in merit terms) parties.

Yeah. Rush rants about that level all the time. He's been at it for so long it doesn't matter if lies out his ass. Seriously. :lol His followers just agree to it all, even when it contradicts itself.

It is. Everything in American is generally the fault of Democrats and secretly the blacks with Limbaugh. Which is why the whole Don Imus outrage thing was hilarious to me. Rush and Savage and some of these other hosts say far worse on a daily basis and they aren't even using satire and no one bats an eye.

LOL @ Colbert:

"We don't even know what ice cream Obama and Bill Ayers would share. My guess is Death by Chocolate by Associaton." (Shopped Ben and Jerry's pic)

I mailed my registration off on 10/4, and the ballot arrived on 10/13. It was for Wyoming though, so maybe the fewer # of people helped.

That's what completes their panic, I think.

Maybe we are seeing the end of a dark era in American culture.

Prolly not though, I have a feeling these people will most likely continue to make up more shit and fuel more hate.

I wish broadcasters would wise up to these creeps.

I don't mean having the ten commandments in the court house. I mean using 'religion' (code for: my "interpretation" of the Bible) to do whatever the fuck they want.

For example:
Gays? God hates 'em! They shouldn't get married!
Science? But the Bible says the world is this old so science is useless!

"Traditional" family beliefs oftentimes (though not always) translate into "MY BIBLE-SHAPED WORLDVIEW"

I live in CA and on the radio, I heard an ad in favor of prop 8. Prop 8 bans gay marriage. The reasons? WE SHOULDN'T BE FORCED TO ACCEPT SAME-SEX MARRIAGE! KIDS WILL BE TAUGHT SAME-SEX MARRIAGES IN SCHOOL, LIKE WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MASSACHUSSETS!!

Republicans act like their rights are being infringed upon when they're the ones infringing on the rights of others. It's fucking ridiculous.

I applaud you sir. The only thing more disgusting than McCain's behavior lately is how he's constantly acting as though he's the victim in all this. I'm still left to wonder how he can ever show his face in the Senate again.

if/WHEN he loses he will do a little televised speech where he says he hopes they can put all the partisan bickering behind and work together for the betterment of the country.

truth is the two party system only allows the parties to succeed....they compete against each for each other...not for the ppl.

oh wait i mean GO OBAMA!

It's kind if strange. The guy who ran the positive, bottom-up campaign will win against not one but TWO of the most powerful political institutions in US politics: the Clintons, and the entire Rove/Bush GOP machine. It's enough to give me hope for this fucked up country.

I reserve to retract this on the 4th if they steal the election, of course.
