They also dont seem to think that the fact that everything about Joe the Plumbers story is a lie affects anything.
Exactly, $1,000 in taxes isn't going to kill you. You have AT LEAST $199,000 more where that came from for the rest of the year. But my laid off cousin trying to open up an online t-shirt company and the struggling bobba/ice cream kiosk at the mall I go to could really use some help right about now.CharlieDigital said:I can't even understand this mindset.
My wife and I make pretty good money, but if it meant that paying $1000 more per year in taxes would result in a family making $50,000 that's struggling to get by getting health care, I'd do it without question.
whoa, whos paying for this?Vomiaouaf said:Hopefully this hasn't been posted yet: a collection of public gaffes provided by John McCain: He Really Said That?.

Of course, they also believe that Obama is racist against white people, is going to increase all of our taxes (despite the fact that all of our salaries would have to double to hit 250K), they are convinced we are all going to get paycuts because the CEO's are going to take more money to make up for lost taxes, and all kinds of other random crap.

No rational reason to fear that phrase.PrivateWHudson said:That's because it's not about Joe, but what Obama said "Spread the wealth".

MANY supporters (on both sides, to be fair) are rooting for their side to win, irregardless of the impact on their own lives, but at least in Obama's case, his policies should positively affect the majority of Americans.

Again, this is true because of historical perceptions of how tax dollars are spent, and what an evil, evil word welfare is to so many people. Unfortunately for the so-called "fiscal conservatives," the current climate, combined with Obama's ability to deliver a consistent message, does not bode well for this talking point at the moment.CharlieDigital said:These people aren't even reading the actual tax proposals and looking at the structure of the brackets. Also, Stooge, you need to give them a test on whether they even understand how progressive tax brackets work and post your results and findings here.
JayDubya said:Yes, because McCain supporters + McCain himself don't believe the policies they support are good / will have a positive impact and has no interest in actually governing. Only your guy does.

This is a sign of when someone has drunken too deeply of the kool-aid.
