EDIT: And to clarify, I do feel for you, those calls are annoying. that's why I've never been able to phone bank for any campaign, it feels like I'm invading people's space. I wish campaigns wouldn't do calls at all, but it does help in some cases.

Same here. A friend tried to get me to do it Wednesday night, and I just couldn't go through with it.

As for them continuing to call back, some people just work off of paper, so it's possible they haven't updated the information yet.

Axelrod: 1 of 5 voters who voted early in NC did not vote in 2004.

This sort of flies in the face of the notion that early voters are all just the usual Dem voters who can't wait to eject Bush, and, if true, would definitely mean a large reshaping of the national electorate when all is said and done.

Indicates 4.2mn turnout, assuming all those who voted in 2004 (~3.5mn) do so again.

that for some voters "spread the wealth" isn’t necessarily a rich vs. middle class argument. Rather, it’s redistribution from middle class to poor. As the Globe puts it, "[T]he notion may play on racist fears of black welfare recipients siphoning money from working-class whites -- fears that have special resonance since Obama is black."

This is what I thought they've been doing to the whole time. This "spread the wealth" thing has an added bonus of being subtly racist.

350? I don't see it happening. 300 is highly possible, but I think 350 is pushing it. Obama is going to need Ohio and/or Florida to hit that, and I'd put money down on him winning neither.

Same thing just happened on CNN with Wolf Blitzer's round table.

Alex Castellanos was lowest, with Obama coming-in around 318EVs.

Incredible.

That's the thing that no one has pointed out.

They are not saying that he's a socialist, or a communist. They are literally saying: HEY LOOK, OBAMA IS BLACK

I am no expert on race but it is very clear to me. They can't paint Obama as the "other" through his blackness, so they are doing it 2 or 3 steps away but in so doing essentially pointing out his blackness. Its pretty awful if you ask me.

My God.

I think eBaumsWorld is about to egg her over the internets, though.
The last thing the Obama campaign needs right now is for Anonymous to be its personal army. All the GOP would need to do is borrow the Scientology playbook to find out how to make Obama look bad for getting such "support".

It'd be like if "backwards b" chick really was attacked, but worse because they could portray Anon as ZOMG TURRISTS.. y'know, exploding yellow vans, HACKERS ON STEROIDS and all that shit.

Basically, they'd be more terrists that Obama pals around with.

Mandark:

* Hawkish foreign policy is only a winner for Republicans when people are scared. The world is getting objectively safer and the fewer threats people perceive the harder it will be to fearmonger.

I agree that fear is the preferred method of the GOP to get people in line but I would disagree that the world is a safer place I think whats happened is that Americans have realized what the rest of the world already knew way before 9/11, that the world is one scary ass place so deal with it. No amount of bombs by one country will change the world to the sanitary bathroom we would like it to be.

Obama 53, McCain 46

e: gallup guy on msnbc says obama will be up by 8 in traditional likely voter model for today.
A two point drop in Gallup today then it seems

I hope so. Poor lady if they are.

exposing whacko cults and sarah palin's yahoo account is not the same as potentially causing grief over someone's political beliefs by egging their house or doing something stupid like hacking computers to change some of her personal info.

Most Americans will not tolerate that and it would destroy's anon's semi heroic status. I mean even with the Palin e-mail hack, people didn't appreciate the fact that her e-mail was hacked because it could happen to anyone.

vigilante groups, Batman, hero we don't need right now etc. etc.

Probably less than that considering the supposedly more generous model had the same +10 margin when rounded. In any case he also called it "noise" and considering the margin, it doesn't really matter at this point.

thefit: Nah.

The world really is trending towards peace. There are fewer wars going on now than there were 20 years ago and there were fewer wars then than 20 years before that.

There's no bipolar nuclear standoff threatening to annihilate the planet. There's no plethora of anticolonial insurgencies. South America is way more stable than it used to be. Ditto southeast Asia. An army hasn't crossed the Rhine for over 60 years.

I'm in PA, and if I get one more phone call from the Obama brainwashed today I swear I am definitely not going to vote for him. It's only 11:00AM and three times today so far and yesterday I even told them to stop calling me. Then they even had the nerve to ask who I am voting for when it is not even their fucking business. Goddamn rediculous.

Same thing happened with my sister the other day. She's registered independent, and an Evangelical who's been spewing some right-wing talking points, but even she's come around to the fact it's in her financial interests for Obama to win. Anways, the other day they called her four times. After the third time, she told her husband if they call one more time, she's not voting for him. It's looking like she probably still will, but they need to keep records and not be so obnoxious. Before I voted early and got taken off the list, even I was getting annoyed by their calls.

Anon will terrorize this woman.

The media will not report it.

It will be Drudge's headline.

Guys, it's too late for McCain, this thing is over.

It is just prank calls from /b/ atm.

Who knows what she'll get in the mail though.

Also, the biggest prank they're doing is splashing her phone & home address all over the internet.

Hope they don't go too far.

McCain: "If I'm elected I'm not gonna spend $750 billion bailing out stock traders and brokers..."

WAT? He's just flat out lying then? Did the guy who suspended his campaign to get this bill passed really just say that?

Yeah, but we do have the whole nuclear proliferation thing to worry about now, which remains troubling.

I was at a house last night where the neighbor had a bunch of McCain signs. One of the signs was one I never saw before and was a barn burner that read like this: Vote for real change! Vote for McCain. Vote against Barack Obama's socialism! Just a shit-ton of words on a little sign.

And at first set me off cause it made no sense. How is McCain change?! Then I had a moment where it finally dawned on me: "Ah, Socialism is code for n***er." I couldn't believe it never dawned on me till that moment.

MONTREAL -
n an over-the-top accent, one half of a notorious Quebec comedy duo claims to be the president of France as he describes sex with his famous wife, the joy of killing animals and Hustler magazine's latest Sarah Palin porno spoof.

At the other end of the line? An oblivious Sarah Palin.

The Masked Avengers, a radio pairing notorious for prank calls to celebrities and heads of state, notched its latest victory Saturday when it released a recording of a six-minute call with Palin, who thought she was talking with Nicolas Sarkozy.

"We have such great respect for you, John McCain and I, we love you," Palin gushes, evidently unaware she's speaking to an infamous Quebec comedian named Marc-Antoine Audette.

At one point, Palin even comes close to confirming her intention to one day run for president, when Audette slyly remarks he can see her taking over the big desk in the Oval office.

We should go hunting together," Palin offers when Audette professes a love of hunting - or, more precisely, killing animals. "We can have a lot of fun together while we're getting work done. We could kill two birds with one stone."

Audette then jokes that they shouldn't bring Cheney on the hunt, referring to the 2006 incident in which the vice-president shot and injured a friend while hunting quail.

"I'll be a careful shot," responds Palin, who praises Sarkozy throughout the call.

"I look forward to working with you and getting to meet you personally - and your beautiful wife, oh my goodness," she says.

"You've added a lot of energy to your country with that beautiful family of yours."

Audette then tells her his wife, Carla Bruni, a singer and former model, was jealous to hear Sarkozy would be speaking to Palin. "Give her a big hug for me," Palin responds.
Audette goes on to describe Bruni as "hot in bed" and claims she's written a song for Palin, the French title of which translates as "Lipstick on a Pig." In English, Audette says the song is about Joe the Plumber.

Finally, he mentions a notorious Hustler video titled "Nailin' Paylin," describing it as "the documentary they made on your life."

"Oh, good, thank you, yes," Palin replies.

It's classic doubletalk. It's kind of scary actually, because politicians can say that Russia is our friend today and say that Russia is our enemy tomorrow and the masses will swallow it all.
