Poor Kojima...

While DS2 was good, it wasn't fresh, like at all. Some retards on the OT laughed when I said it's DS 1.5, but I guess those clowns finally realized the truth. Thats ok, Kojima has other projects, fanboys will suck his dick over.

Doom Dark Ages won more awards than Kojima and Ghost of Yotei

Awkward John Krasinski GIF by Saturday Night Live
Yeah I was more surprised by the complete Yotei snub. Though a TGA without Geoff sucking off Kojima's thick and perfectly smooth peepee is weird

It sold much better than Ds2 to be honest. Astrobot sales numbers is very good.

Anyway debate about Ex33 will take a while and history will be judge for itself. Im 100% sure many will have a regret vote in the future especially not giving Ds2 a chance and not giving at least 1 or 2 awards. It is like RDR2 or Days gone or GOT case again. For me Ds2 is handsdown best action adventure game compared to Silk song and best Director compared to Ex33.

Ex33 is good and very based, i give them that but only won for sympathy vote, but not goat level rpg, not even top 20.

Thanks.
according to official figures 1.5m as of beginning of Nov 2024 and the award nominees get cut off for that year at the end of November, so it would've likely sold less that the DS2 numbers you gave.

Typical trash bad-faith argumentation where an opinion is presented and if you happen to disagree you're a retarded fanboy and sucker of Kojima's dick.

How about, DS2 was my most played game this year giving me 150+ hrs of entertainment, over the duration of which I encountered no bugs, no crashes, no performance issues, was regularly wowed by the visuals, often gobsmacked by the insanity, and had a good time every session.

That sounds like a GOTY experience ? No dick-sucking required.

That depends. Are you considering it one the best games ever made? If not, cool. If yes, you certainly are gobbling Kojima's balls.

Again, even in the GAF polls, Exp 33 was unanimously voted. DS2 wasn't even the second or third top voted game.

If you take this forum as a litmus test, DS2 didn't have a chance.

Who cares - when you're all out of stamina on a snowy mountain, plant your last structure as a zip-line and find it connects to your destination as you glide above everything with some beautiful emo folk shit playing on your mp3 player - you are experiencing peak gaming.

And anyone who's done that knows it.

PT is the best thing Kojima ever made. He's so fucking overrated IMO.

PT is also just a glorified tech demo remembered more for its novelty.

Real talk: Phantom Pain is the best playing game Kojima has made and he has not touched its high highs ever since, even though he basically copied most of its mechanics for DS1 and 2.

I loved the shit out of DS but DS2 was super disappointing to me, so yeah. He needs to take the L. It surprises me that he even thought he had a chance with the gargantuan motion that E33 (deservedly) had. There was no contest whatsoever. Good reality check I hope.

Its one of the best made games I've ever seen or played. From a purely technical standpoint I mean. Every aspect is done to the highest standard.

As I game, personally, I loved it. Its not a game for everyone, but then again I loved the first game and this I feel tops the original in every conceivable way (but difficulty).

I get the criticism that it lacks a mandatory, hardcore survival mode, but that's not why I like the first game so its not relevant criticism for me.

And I will repeat- it's the best thing he's ever done. The creativity and thought that went into this short teaser, and then without saying or explaining much at all goes completely against what Kojima normally does and it was so much better for it. Not saying I hate his games- on the contrary, I love Metal Gear 1 and 2, but PT said so much without saying much at all. Left it all up to us to figure it out.

Here's the thing, that demo was so good that there was no way in hell Silent Hills, whatever it would have turned out to be, could ever live up to it.

Especially cause it would have featured Reedus front and center, they won't have been able to make a full 15, 20 hour SH game with a completely mute Reedus.

I have an hunch that the gameplay in mgs5 is probably all konami old team merit and the dude only made the shitty story and cutscenes.

The fact that ds2 try his worst to get close but it's still light years from mgs5 gameplay speak volume if you ask me.

Well that's because he copy pasted the first game and just adjusted some things here and there, improved certain bits and bobbles and done deal. It's also running on one of most optimized engines out there which is not his nor his creation, but Guerilla's. In fact a lot of technical aspects are thanks to Guerilla, not Kojima. Again you enjoyed it, cool. I enjoyed it as well, thought the story was far better in the first. The gameplay is whatever it is. I won't comment much on it as I spent around 80 hours in both games building the highway and monorail to its fullest just to help other players. That being said, fun is not something I'd call Death Stranding games. They're jobs with cool cinematics.

He will retire after this next game and the industry will be worse for it. Even if you think DS2 is a bit damp.

A lot of the old school are going to hang up their boots over the next 3-10 years.

Industry will go to poop.

Like I said, not for everyone.

Liking or not liking a certain thing is meaningless. Because everyone has their own tastes.

Bad things can still be fun, so essentially the nearest you can get to an objective, reasoned take is to have both a technical/artistic analysis, and then add on top your personal "reviewer's tilt".

For me, it scored extremely high on both.

But then again I'm not going to deny that I really like Kojima's wackily eclectic style, in the same way as I love what Yoko Taro brings to the table. I like things with distinct personality about them, which tends to produce divisive reactions.

Wow. I recenty check X and there is so much sympathy for Ds2. I know Kojima is a polarizing figure or narcissistic sometimes but ds2 deserves at least one or two awards that night. Even from well known X video game site have something to say example

Could it be that people simply outgrew / had enough of Kojima being Kojima?

KCD2 was the most robbed though. Should won at least Best RPG, and Tom McKay should've at least been nominated for best performance. Nominating 3 people from the same fucking game in one category was the biggest travesty last night.

I'm hoping going forward that Geoff:
  1. Creates separate male & female categories
  2. Maximum of 1 person per title in each

I say "Boohoo". I have been a fan of this man since his very Metal Gear Solid.

When I thought Kojima would have become better with experience and age, all he has become is a obnoxious movie director wannabe, even worst than he was before.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt with Death Stranding, but with DS2, practically everything about this game is "look at me and my celebrity friends".

But probably I still will play his games for Yoji Shinkawa's art direction.

Male/Female categories........................what about......................them?
^I actually agree there should be an Actress and Actor category.

Max 1 per game......then its quite possible to have literally one outlet nominate someone and them get put on the list while another person is nominated by 30% of the outlets and they get snubbed because their co-star got 31% of the outlets.
Clearly not fair.

I suggest you read/find out how the nominees are actually picked.

The reason multiple people can be nominated from the same game is because they each received the most picks......if your favorite actor didnt make the cut its because not enough outlets thought they did a better job.
The whole cast should be allowed to be nominated if they were the best that year.

Pity adding someone is the lamest shit, this aint no Gacha games, id actually be offended.

I played the first one for 5 hours then get bored. That's my cutoff point, if any game "gets good after 10/20/30 hours" then it's not a good game. The second is much of the same according to this forum.

And it is absolutely pretentious. Pro globalism nonsense that Americans are too dumb to understand according to the man himself.

If you fill your cast with Hollywood actors, you're only fishing for awards. There are loads of talented actors within the industry who could've done a better job. Had anyone heard of Roger Clark or Rob Wiethoff before Red Dead Redemption?

So, you are clueless.

Did he actually announce this?

If not, how do you come up with stuff like this and post it as if it's a fact?

+He will be around 70 by the time it is out.

RIP

Forgot how old the guy was

What justification will Kojima give now... for hiring so many actors and wasting money?

Then I think Konami was right about their relationship with Kojima.

Are you suggesting the fact he didnt win TGAs means there's no point making games? What?
I'm saying that you don't need to hire "actors" to play characters or allocate million-dollar budgets to make a game. Expedition 33, for example, proved that it doesn't need that to stand out.

Something Sony still doesn't seem to understand.

One success doesn't prove shit. Its all about sustainability, and if you're taking half a decade between projects you're playing a very dangerous game as popular tastes and culture can move on a long way in that time.

let's be honest, After multiple wins that was everyone's reaction
Exactly. Multiple people in the crowd did that (as well as online live chats and lets watch livestreams). It was the natural "of course" reaction. This is a nothing burger.

Retards are just making up e-drama from their own personal disdain for the guy.

People all over the world were typing "the glazing continues" at that moment.
