Can't Control The Kids

Thinking about DMJ's great retrospective further, I still think the ultimate blame is on Diddy for not keeping that group together.
I mean, it's easy to say that Aubrey putting the group second behind her personal career aspirations was the culprit...but I always found it odd that she was even ABLE to sign on to do Hairspay in the first place. When most acts (especially new acts) sign contracts there are usually clauses in place to keep them from doing projects that might clash with the label's plans. If Bad Boy had been a competent label from the beginning, signing on to do Hairspray while with DK wouldn't have even been an option for Aubrey without permission from the label.
Also, remembering the episode, Diddy seemed ALL TOO READY to dismantle DK. I get that Aubrey and D.Woods were good friends, but other than that it made no real sense to fire D.Woods (especially since she was one of the group's central vocalists, next to Aundrea and sometimes Dawn). And Diddy had to have known that chopping TWO of the members like that would be the death knell for DK, which was silly since their star was on the rise even as the Making The Band ratings were dropping, proving they could be a legitimately successful group independent of a reality show. By this point, they were also Bad Boy's highest profile act BY FAR.
It just made no sense. Keeping DK together would have made Diddy more money and brought Bad Boy Records some much needed respect after being the laughing stock of the industry for so long (I don't think they can even sign promising talent now if another label wants them, Bad Boy's cred is THAT low). If I had been Diddy I would have told those girls to fuck their feelings and lets get this money.
But I doubt Diddy has wanted to be anything other than a shit-tastic manager and joke of the Hip Hop community for a while now. The historic and unparalleled fall of Bad Boy from being THE LABEL back in the 90s to the shit stain it is now is an epic tale of its own.
Hopefully Cassie can save it. ;_____;
I think Cassie would thrive if she were on a good label. Bad Boy is just the world's worst label.
Thank the lordt Janelle is off it.
Popjustice baffles me.
They try to make a point about being some site that cares about music and doesn't have time for mindless criticism of pop music based on meaningless things like authenticity, and lyricism. Then they go and criticize songs on their lists for the shallowest of reasons.
Cassie can save anything .. almost.
I see the Christina stans have still missed the birthday thread.
It says a lot when you label makes RCA look better by comparison. Xtina and Ke$ha at least get support from them.

What about JoJo Record Label drama?
Thanks to DMJ and Pupi, I have like 4 mega post I need to read. Good job to both of them too.
And a very happy birthday to Sia as well.
Sia and Xtina's birthdays are on the same day? What kind of heavenly date...?
I just saw the Xtina Birthday thread. I'm SCREAMING at some of the non-POP-GAF responses.
Actually pretty flawless responses lol.
