Porn site traffic plummets as UK age verification rules enforced

Next step, make VPNs illegal.
To protect the children, of course.
Interesting thought. Are the VPN companies pushing this stuff to drive business, or are governments pushing it to drive folks to VPNs, then say "pedo predators are hiding behind VPNs!" and then ban them........

So a women can decide that if you look at her is considered sexual staring or not, and then call it harassment at any moment...got it.
Humanity needs a hard reboot.
And don't forget, if you get caught, you get a non crime hate incident on your record :messenger_tears_of_joy:

How would that even go ffs future job interviews??

'So, sir. You like 'looking' do you? Had any stares recently?, we're a no stare company, I'm afraid you was unsuccessful'

I just can't with this shite :messenger_tears_of_joy:

How come everyone is losing their minds over this now? Virginia did this like a year ago and I only found out when someone posted the Pornhub year in review here and I couldn't see any of it.

And sometimes a website thinks people are in Virginia when they aren't. Ridiculous.

As far as I know it was restricted to porn sites in some states in the US. It wasn't as broad as what the UK is doing

Well of course they are going further - at one point you could fight in a war but not watch Bruce Lee using nunchucks or see an erect penis in porn. But also there could be topless 16 year old girls in the newspaper. Its a land of contrasts.
It just seems weird the scale of the difference in responses especially considering the historical differences to censorship.

Just remember the ol' golden rule. If a man likes it, it's bad

I would argue this is the tipping point that results in another rebellion against the Crown but then I remember guns aren't legal in the UK for civilians to own

Why would this result in a rebellion against the monarchy?! The monarchy hasn't had any power for almost 400 years. The King doesn't make any laws.

Guns are actually legal. You can own a gun here with a licence.

The video they released said there is no law they can arrest the men with, but they pull them over and give a stern talking to. UK is literally karen country now.

If I knew this was happening I'd go and moo at them
If there is no crime being investigated, aren't they illegally detaining people? Is there no illegal detention law out there? In the US you can't be detained by the police without reasonable suspicion of crime. I tried googling it and it gave answers about illegal arrest (totally different) and detention prior to deportation. I gave up after seeing nothing but those.

I never understood the appeal of catcalling a woman. I find it rude and unnecessary and shows bad character.

This is not the way to change the behaviour of certain men though. I think we, as men, have some responsibility to not be dicks.

Trending in quite the interesting direction...

Here's an idea. To stop men looking at woman maybe they should invent, I don't know, some kind of blanket made out of black cloth that covers them head to toe, and maybe a letter box shaped hole for their eyes so they don't trip while running. Just an idea off the top of my head.

I hate living here. The Uk has been decline for decades. It was like the UK got chemically castrated after losing tbe empire and is the country equivalent of cuck that is now watching France look at porn. My issue isn't the blocks on porn. Not necessarily a bad thing but its the Online Safety Act, not the Online Porn Act. Anything the government deems harmful can be blocked. People are even getting blocked on Spotify. They would block Neogaf if they decided it was harmful to children. Its just more censorship. People are naive if they think its about porn.

We're just experiencing technical difficulties at this time. Blankets coming soon

Some bitches be hot and there's the urge to let them know they're giving you a rise in your Levi's

Don't look at women because it might be viewed as harassment. Don't approach a women because it might be seen as harassment. Just read an article that complimenting a women on her outfit might be seen as harassment. Birth rates plummet...the end. I think Pandas get a bad rap for being bad at reproducing.

I'm going to go against the gooner grain and say I'm not bothered by the changes. I haven't provided any of my own ID for verification and I won't do either, certainly not for porn. I haven't noticed any changes personally, the web is as available as it always has been, just with slightly less accessible porn. The internet could use a bit of regulation anyway, as it makes the wild west look like North Korea. This is long overdue. The world was a much better place before the internet if you ask me.

I don't think it's specifically about VPNs, but the end goal is basically to eliminate what little privacy/anonymity there still is online.
While not perfect, VPNs are a cheap and easy to use way to get past these restrictions, so in time they'll inevitably go after them. And yeah, of course it's going to be justified by arguing that they are being used by criminals as well as allowing kids to get past these restrictions that are meant to protect them.

I'd imagine it will ultimately end up like China, where only government approved and monitored VPNs are legal..

Yep, it's all some serious sinister shit.

I don't actually want to live here anymore, but at the same time, I don't want these bastards winning, either.
It really is.

Any kind of caution/conviction stays on the coppers database for 99 fucking years. I imagine this shit is now the same? Bastards sneaked that through didn't they?

Totally agreed on not losing to these cunts as well, commie fucks are long overdue for a good hiding. I love this country too much to hand it over to them.

Technically it's the same here. But you're heading into the weird shit of 'probable cause' etc. And that's obtuse and esoteric by design.

In a quite remarkable coincidence the Molly Rose Foundation, one of the lobby groups who campaigned for this has a Trustee who also owns a company that sells age verification software. What are the chances huh?

Man, Benny Hill would get life in jail if he were alive today.
Just curious.

For you UK folks, do they show T&A on TV there? Cussing? Maybe they only show it late night?

I ask because back in the day when we'd get Benny Hill shown here on Buffalo Fox29 back in the 80s and maybe early 90s(?) there were a couple episodes they showed tits. One was a vampire skit and a women takes off her dress in a second floor window.

So if the UK is so prudish lately, it wouldnt make sense if TV shows could also show tits on TV.

Any chance Brits would ask the Americans to invade them?

Seems like it would be a great use of American military power. Just flatten Westminster and start fresh.
