Borderlands 2
I have defended this port extensively in the past. I always said that the opportunity to play this game on the go makes up for the sacrifices that were made to get the game on the Vita. And I still believe that with enough experience with other versions of the game, you can mitigate many of the framerate issues (for example, if you know the movement patterns of enemies, and the speed at which you can aim, you can make the same movements knowing you will hit the target even if the game itself is unable to render it fast enough).
HOWEVER.
I was at a party a couple of weeks ago, and I was introduced to a friend of a friend who works in Sony's 3rd party development team. He told me in no uncertain terms that the port was a disaster, could and should have been far better than it was, Iron Galaxy were a nightmare to work with and 4 player co-op was cut from the game at the very last second - not because it didn't work, but because the framerate was even worse than in 2 player and they wanted to avoid negative feedback on it. So that somewhat changed my opinion on the subject.
Rant over. Here's a couple of screenshots.

And as a bonus, Killzone Mercenary. I know Borderlands 2 was never gonna look this good, but the gulf is undeniably vast...
Hmm, this is interesting, thanks for sharing. Though, the main problem with the game to me was controls, not framerate.
What was his excuse for Ultra Street Fighter IV being a disaster at launch; and then Resident Evil Revelations 2 being (so far) a framerate nightmare at launch?
Honestly, I can believe there were problems with Iron Galaxy. The port didn't turn out great. But so far the common factor between all the games made by Third Party Productions is... well... Third Party Productions themselves. Maybe they need to supervise their partners better or something.
This gives me hope that maybe we'll get The Pre-Sequel on Vita in future and it'll actually have a decent framerate, though.
P.S. Did you not ask him what 3PP are doing next?![]()
Not a fair comparison, one is a level based first party game made to show what vita can do, the other is a cheap (bad)port of open world game made with more powerful consoles in mind, but yeah the result could have been better.
Honestly i don't care about graphics if all the rest is good... well that's not the case.
BL2 is not the exception, more like the rule, the third party production needs to do better jobs in general.
Goodness, yep maybe best game.

I actually own this game thanks to a sale a few months back, but i've never played it or read anything about it (either on Vita or on any other platform). Is it good? Is the Vita port of it good? Because it looks absolutely stunning.

I'm playing this game with my wife on the PS4, so many beautiful locations you visit!
