My monitor is going apeshit. 21" Dell Trinitron. Got it for free.

Anyways, The other day I pressed the reset/degauss buttons. Now whenever 1)a picture comes up during scrolling on a webpage 2) I go to a graphics program and pan around 3) open a new tab in opera 4)basically do anything that changes the colors alot on screen, The image *grows*.

You know how you can change the size of the display with the buttons on the monitor? That! It grow big and shrink back down anytime I do any of the above. Anyone have a clue why the fuck it's doing that? I've messed with ALL the controls (convergence/colors/size/etc) and it stills does.

I used to have a monitor that did this. Turned out that the cable between the video card and the monitor was busted. Once it was replaced, the monitor worked great.

iirc think this is a power supply issue. something about the deflection voltage fluctuating too much when the image has a high intensity (ie, high load). i've never tried this but maybe you can turn down the brightness? replacing cables certainly can't hurt either (assuming it's not captive). lowering the refresh might help too if it's super high

The cables were good, turns out it was my contrast, shit was set at 100, turned it down to 90 it's fine and dandy, a little dark but better thand popasaraus. Thanks you fellas.

Damn, I thought reading your post that pictures were expanding like balloons as you watched them on screen, not instantly jumping to 4x the size. :lol

I finally got all the contrast/brightness crap good. Jesus that was annoying.

Now that I think about it, in one of the archived threads that turned into an animated-gif party, there was a picture of this head which increased in size continuously. :lol

I think it might have been in the V-Card thread.
