As someone who makes like $400 a week I am very, very annoyed that unemployed people are basically getting twice what I make for not working.

Yeah it is pretty messed up. I'm not saying they deserve any less, but I do think if they deserve that much then people actually working deserve the same or more. I can understand if it's for 4 months but there's no doubt going to have to be at least one more stimulus...and what are the unemployed going to get then? Another 4 months? It can be irritating for people working and not making shit. I have to go and do completely unessential work and I get a whole 2 dollar an hour raise for 5 weeks. It's something, but it's not enough.

Four of them will be raking my lawn with me today because the town picks up the lawn piles in a few days. My second just cleaned the dryer vent and is helping catch up with laundry. It works because the older ones are very respectful and obedient. They are great kids, thank God. I can't imagine life without them. My oldest is such a good big brother to the littles. He holds them, comforts them, feeds them. He'll be a great daddy one day. He wants a bunch of kids, he told my wife. We're glad we didn't scare him away :).

My bank is telling me that I will get another payment on 4/21 and then another on 4/28. Is that correct? Three payments? That would be an insane $19,200 (if they are all for $6,400). I'm going to pay off all my student loans in that case. The feds give me money and I'll just give it back, haha.

Wow, it sure is weird how they are sending it out. I filed mine at the end of January and did direct deposit for my return, as I always do. Not even pending in my account yet.

I've got you beat - I filed my taxes on Feb 9th and still haven't gotten my refund.

I'm not holding my breath for this stimulus cash. It'll be nice if it arrives, but I've learned not to count my eggs before they hatch.

Nah this is pretty typical for me / my usual tax situation. Thankfully I have my work stuff sorted out so that it's very close - this year I'm only expecting a $240 refund which isn't the end of the world if it takes months to arrive.

But again, because of said unusual tax circumstances, I'm not expecting the IRS to give me jack shit any time soon.

This is not entirely accurate.

The $1200 one time, on top of an extra $600 per pay period of unemployment (for those without work just like in other countries).

So if one collects $350 a week on unemployment, it will be boosted to $650 a week, or $2,815/mo USD ($3,917 CAD for that $2K a month Canadian reference in contrast).

I'm going to need another one or two of these before I can actually use it to stimulate the economy...as it is I'll just pay off a credit card balance and hopefully put a little in savings.

They changed that in the final bill (or whatever its called) It's +500 per kid and there's no limit to the number of them.
