OMG 6 pages for a MMPR thread! Woo! Also, I completely forgot there were two movies. I guess I just put the Ninja and Turbo movies together in my head and made it one big super PR movie :p

Actually, now that I think about it, Power Rangers SPD might be Space Police Dekaranger(If they even use the term Dekaranger).

I used TVtome.com earlier when I was looking for that one episode, and the name Space Patrol Delta popped up.

Yeah I'm surprised as well, didn't know there was so much Power ranger.. er loving.. then again, it could be that it's not an overdone topic, and everyone wants to get their point in since it's a once in a lifetime chance I guess.

And since I've never seen the movie, and don't know if it was explained on the show.

What happens to Ninjor (was that the weird ninja's dude name?), and how were Bulk and Skull written off the show? You know I always thought that one time, they would become rangers.

I never really watched the show all that much, but of course I knew about it. Past like the second season and after the first movie I have no idea of the storyline though, but regardless for some reason I really like the first movie. I just thought it was really well made and had extremely impressive production values given the production on the show and the subsequent "movies" (if one wants to call them that). I thought the remodeled suits looked really nice in the film and though the CGI could have used some work it was good given what they had to work with.

Even though I didn't really watch the show I was still somewhat dissapointed that Zedd and Rita were on the back-burner as the enemies in the flick though. If they were going to change it up they should have pulled a Frank Langella from "Masters of the Universe" and had this extremely impressive evil character that was really menacing and ate the scenery. If they still wanted a "campy" character for the film they should have just stuck with Zedd or Rita or both.

You shouldn't be surprised that this thread is so long because I'm sure many of us were big fans of the first season; people will get nostalgic about the first season like I and others get nostalgic over Thundercats etc. I was like 9 or 10 when the show debuted so it's been a while...

I watched Forever Red and here are my thoughts:

Things I hated

- this has nothing to do with this particular episode but the theme music for the new series really sucks
- the new rangers (anything after the season one crew) are really annoying and they look stupid...the guy with long hair who was spying on the bots at the beginning looks the worst.
- the acting was pretty horrible (especially from the loser with the bandanna.) The first season guys were at least tolerable back then
- the CGI is SO BAD... why did they stop using the models for the zords and shit? -_-
- Serpentera is silver now?
- Did Tommy have long hair during Zeo? They didn't even bother changing the morphing animations... Btw, why can't Tommy stick to one color? Green.. white... and now red? How did he lose his white ranger powers?
- how one of the rangers was able to take down Serpentera with a bicycle

Things that were cool

- It was definitely great to see Tommy and Jason together. They both have aged pretty damn well (Tommy looks the same pretty much) and Jason bulked up more. Why wasn't the other red blonde ranger included?
- Bulk and skull were there without the mad max reject outfits
- Jason mentioning Kimberly
- the fights were pretty cool... especially the gun segment

I think only Serpentera was CGI. they still use models for the zords with some CGI sprinkled in.

Tommy did have long hair in Zero. He was the red ranger since the title of the show was Forever Red. It wouldn't have made much sense if Tommy was the white ranger, TJ the blue Turbo ranger or Jason as the Gold Ranger. Tommy lost the powers when his power coin was destroyed. I think by Rita's father or was it Lord Zedd? Cole was able to take down Sepentera with the help of a wizard.

Actually, Cole used the WildForce Rider to destroy Serpentera. The WildForce Rider was given to him by a 'Zord-God' named Animus...who disguised himself as a little boy named Kite.

I guess since Cole's Rider was made by a 'God', it would have the power to take down Serpentera.

Yeah i watched that forever red episode and was like "wtf he destroyed this super zord on his stupid motorcycle"

it makes more sense knowing where it came from though.

I'm lost here.

Whatever to Rita's old palace?
i don't know, I knew she had it, then Zed moved in, then they both moved in, I believe when the Machine Empire took over, they had it as well, maybe changed a bit, then it was never seen again.

Also, I think that a Power Ranger movie with as many Rangers as they can possibly get from the old series would be a nice little send off to the series.

Do they even bother trying to tie the series into one plot anymore? Other than Tommy returning as a Ranger in this new show?

Zedd's palace was a different one, and the Machine Empire's was a bunch of floating cogwheels. O_O

Hmm I always thought that Lord Zed came, trapped Rita in that dumpster thing and took over her palace, guess I was wrong.

Well she trapped her in the Dumpster, but that was in a different palace on the moon. =x

I always just assumed that whoever set up shop on the moon, took over Rita's old digs and you know spruced it up a bit, maybe I was mistaken.

But I don't remember it being destroyed or anything.

And whatever happened to the little monster maker Rita had, I forget his name.

I don't know if this was already asked...but how did Power Rangers Zeo end in the TV series. I'm not talking about the Power Rangers Turbo movie, but I never really saw a clear end to Power Rangers Zeo. All I can remember of the last episode I saw was of Jason returning the Golden Powers to Trey. Is that just how it ended? What happened to the Machine Empire? I'm just lost...

From what I've remember, after Zordan was able to re-unify the 3 Treys into 1 person and save Jason's life, Mondo made himself and his Cogs grow into giants and attacked the Zeo Rangers. Trey used his powers to grow himself and the Zeo Rangers in giants and defeated Mondo and the Cogs.

When Mondo retreated to the moon, him and his family met up with Lord Zedd and Rita. Zedd and Rita decided that trying to take over Earth started to suck, so they gave a 'going away present' to Mondo then hopped in their motor home and blasted off the moon. When Mondo opened his present, it exploded and blasted away him and his Royal Machine Family.

Bulk and Skull became spies and went to France for their assignment.

Jason and Tommy talked blah..blah..blah about losing their powers then went to their girlfriends and just looked out at the lake...the end.

That was the end to the storyline, but not the last episode. The real last Zeo episode had an elderly Tommy and Kat talking to their grandkids about the Power Rangers.

Wonder if they thought that would be the real last episode.

Did anyone know that Lord Zedd is Jewish?

Come again?
How is he Jewish?

Also does anyone know how Bulk and Skull were written off the show? (If they were written off the show?)

From IMDB.com
Lord Zedd is Jewish. During his wedding to Rita in Season 2's "The Wedding: Part 3," he wore a yarmulke, he did the traditional breaking of a glass to commemorate the destruction of the Temple, and the song "Hava Nagila" was played.

Think there's any chance we'll see a Japanese -Rangers series on TV for the sake of comparison to the US versions (like Ultraman), or see someone license the episodes of an old series?

Numerous petitions have been made but highly unlikely that someone will pick up the Japanese Series and subtitle/dub it in english. IIRC, Media Blasters is interested in releasing various toku shows on dvd here. Fox actually was also interested in bring over one of the Kamen Rider series in Japan over here since they lost the Power Rangers license to Disney. Kamen Rider Ryuki would have been renamed "Dragon Rider" for the states. IMHO, since Fox got Ultraman Tiga, dubbed in english, I say a reboot of the entire Masked Rider franchise in the states would have been justified after Saban's Masked Rider failure(worst Saba n show EVER!). Fox could use Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, and even 555 here and either dub it or make a serious show out of it.

On the first episode of 'Lost Galaxy', Bulk and the old Man were boarding TerraVenture when they've realized they've forgotten to bring Skull with them. Next scene showed Skull waking up after his alarm clock woke him up late, then he had a 'WTF?' look on his face...that was Skull's last appearance.

On the last episode, after TerraVenture crashed on the planet Mirinoi, showed Bulk, the old Man and the rest of the former inhabitants of TerraVenture celebrating their discovery of Mirinoi...which is now their new home. That's Bulk's last appearance.

Of course there was their cameo on 'Forever Red' 2 years ago.
