Just the other day we learned that the Power Rangers Movie soundtrack was being recorded at Abbey Road Studios by members of the Philharmonia; one of London’s most renowned orchestras. We heard the familiar six note chord in the Power Rangers teaser trailer. Was that a snippet of what we could hear in the movie or just created for the trailer itself?
Today, member Claire Newton took to instagram to express her excitement over recording the classic “Go Go Power Rangers” theme song. The previous orchestral version of the theme song can be heard in the 1995 Power Rangers movie. In all, it took three days to record the orchestra for the film.

Doesn't really seem to fit thematically with the tone of the trailer... but hey why not.

The version in the MMPR movie was pretty great though.

It's not great; it's fucking amazing. Seriously, when the drum beats and the guitar start at the 38 second mark, you know shit is going to go down.

If it doesn't get a melancholic version of the song, the original theme will likely be played during the credits and nowhere else like The Touch was in Michael Bay Transformers. Simply because it won't fit in with the mood of the movie.

Transformers had some good songs in the end credits, but none of them ever played during the entire movie. It was non-stop Linkin Park.

Freakin loved that song when I was a kid, must have listened to it on the tape million times. I'm always impressed when people have a go at the guitar solo, awesome stuff.

That night-scene morph in the 1998 movie was just so iconic to me. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to replicate it to play to the nostalgia.

Look at that bad ass.

The scene after that with them searching the building using their armour tech was awesome too. The infra-red vision; the beam lights.

I'm getting hyped just remembering all of this!

1. If the movie ends on a shot of the Green Ranger i'd be up for that.
2. Transformers 1 had an amazing soundtrack at points.
