Way lighter in tone than the first trailer. Also shows off
Goldar, Zordon, the Megazord, and the ranger suits in action
.

Evidently, a lot of this stuff does actually work better in motion than as standalone designs. Still not sure how I feel on them
making all of Rita's minions material based
..

Looks fun. They seem to have gone for the right tone.

Oh, and random thing, what's with this new habit with trailers now where they show a few random seconds of the trailer itself before the trailer actually starts? Bit annoying.

That's...pretty damn colorful.

Take that grimdark lovers?

Don't really like Angel Grove looking like the tiny town from Thor.

Gotta admit I almost wasn't expecting martial arts seeing as it kinda wants to veer away from Sentai roots.

also the jokes suck.

I think it's primarily because on Facebook and Twitter trailers auto play when you move over them, so it's like a few random seconds of action to get the audience inticed to watch the whole thing

You know what, that Zordon actually does work in motion. Everything else looks pretty bad. I actually laughed when 'Power' started playing, not just because it's so on the nose but it was so overused in movie trailers like half a decade ago.

That is actually the thing I liked most about the trailer, all of the usual superhero bombast but nary a big city to be found(sadly, this means no abandoned warehouse district).

There had been talk that Lionsgate weren't showing any footage of the Zords in action because the VFX was so awful (and cheap) looking.

Uhhh, kinda?

Still looks dreadful. And, again, I have to ask just who is this film for? Eight year old boys or the fortysomething Power Ranger fan..., buying the toys.

It's made for when it's used for ads on other videos, which let you skip after 5 seconds - it's intended to draw you in to seeing the rest of the trailer.

Well, I got ninja'd on this.

Repeating from my own thread:

This might end up being a trainwreck but the promo material continues to look surprisingly ok. I like the costumes a lot and the Zords look cool but I'm not sold on the little glimpse we got of the Mega-Zord yet. And I hope they don't spend too much time on the origin stuff. I want to see them in costumes by the 45mn mark.

I mean, '90s nostalgia is a big thing right now, and you don't get more '90s than the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
