PPSSPP 0.75 released

Another request is to let us save different control configurations.

This is coming but much further down the road (possibly after the new UI is implemented), as we'd need to first implement a proper in-UI control remapping scheme first.

Currently only Windows users get to have some internal control remapping ability (which is still incomplete as the right stick has yet to be accounted for, only bindable via the ini using 4 preset configurations). Others have to rely on external programs for now.

Is Crisis Core emulation perfect? Will emu work fine with FX8350 and Radeon 6870?

1. Crisis Core's emulation is not perfect. It is, however, very, very playable (to the end), with working audio and video cutscenes as of the latest git revision.

There is only 1 major visual flaw left to rectify in the game; the buggy character shadow on Zack which appears in certain areas. Otherwise, it looks just fine.

2. Your system is more than capable of running the emulator. Just be aware of the usual caveats related to AMD's OGL drivers and certain games when emulated in PPSSPP. I've outlined some of them here.

For the record, I'm running this emulator pretty well on my 4-5 year old laptop with the following specs:-

Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
15.6" 1080p FHD Monitor
Windows 7 x64 Professional SP1

It just goes to show how optimized it is. Performance is solid in most playable games with the exception of Tekken 6 (rectified with frameskipping). Even the God of War games are now playable at full speed on my rig thanks to the latest FPS hack introduced in v0.8.1-123-g0d32163.

2. Danganronpa

The game's targetting reticule does not work during Investigation Mode by default. It requires the FramebuffersToMem hack which was recently implemented into PPSSPP as of v0.8.1-20-g5fcd521. This hack fixes the issue on NVIDIA cards. Again, it does nothing for AMD cards, and the game remains unplayable. Items are not selected properly, and are out of order.

Damn. Good progress, but unfortunate it doesn't work for AMD cards. I've been looking into this game lately and I think I might end up trying to get a PSP for it and a couple of others.

This emulator is really starting to grow on me.

More FFVII Crisis Core love.

What gives with cheats? I copy this

_S ULES-01372
_G Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Eur)
_C0 Infinite Ammo
_L 0x20101EDC 0xFFFFFFFF

into the ULES01372.ini file the emulator creates but nothing doing.

Actually, we have some good news on that front for Danganronpa on AMD/ATI cards.

I just helped another dev test out an experimental build that would help fix that issue even on AMD/ATI cards. I got through the problematic parts using that build which I had to compile myself, manually from his git repository

The dev intends to refine the fix, and then push it in the very near future.

It's not quite ready for mass consumption at the moment, which is why it's not being sent in as a pull request yet.

If you have an AMD card, some form of git and compiler like Visual Studio 2010, you can try out the experimental fix for yourself right now.
