That comic looks great but I decided to buy the standard edition. I bought Aliens vs. Predator Omnibus volumes 1 and 2 some time ago. I have never read them before.

This game really makes me want to buy a PS4 again. I hope it will work on the Xbox Series X or PS5, because I'm holding out for one or the other.

I played this for few hours. Its fun and it feels better than the trial in my opinion. I have been using the 87 movie skin a lot. I have encountered few glitches but I still like the game. I got stuck on a tree few times when playing as Predator.

Probably. But who cares, I think it's fun. F13 didn't get the greatest reviews either, but it still sold decently, and was a lot of fun IMO. They've improved some pretty crucial things on my end, at least on PC. Performance and optimization feels improved. I also noticed that the Fireteam movement and sprint feels a LOT better. Still some minor quirks and C/D bugs, but I haven't come across anything crucial just yet. At least in the tutorial and 3/4 games I've played.

However the queue times are still completely borked which is pretty sad. They're actively working on it so I'm sure it'll be taken care of quickly, at least I'd hope so. I think the beta should've been a few months ago so they could've had proper time to work on some fixes and improvements.

Yep, watching streams and it looks as janky as the beta. Even the streamer I'm watching is getting fed up with it. Shame that they had to push it to release so early... or maybe Illfonic is just bad at hitting deadlines, I don't know.
Either way, I'm glad I decided to wait and see.

Is that on PS4? Because I played 3 hours of the beta on PC, and this definitely feels better. Not perfect of course, but definitely better. I mean, I don't regret my purchase. I even refunded my standard version and got the deluxe. Call me a shill if you want, cause I'm certainly not. I'm just not seeing the "major jank" or "garbage" other people are describing. Some jank? Of course, I mean, F13 had jank. This is Illfonic, not Nintendo, Blizzard, id, etc.

No, it was a PC streamer who streamed the beta as well. He was the #1 stream for the game by a couple thousand viewers, and it wasn't a good impression of the game. Long queue times, bugged lobbies when the queue was finally complete, janky animations/presentation, apparent balance issues, etc. At the end of the stream when asked if he'd recommend the game, he simply said "no".

As a life-long Predator fan, I simply wish the game had received the development resources and time it deserved. Like I said in my previous post, I don't know if there's something wrong with Illfonic's development team (or maybe the execs signing the contracts) in particular, but that's two out of two games that they've released far too early.

It's fine if you're enjoying the game, no one is saying you shouldn't. I've enjoyed poorly-received games too. Just ignore the "haters" and keep on trucking.

I was just curious as I'm not one to just bask in garbage games, lmao. I hadn't seen it for myself, so I just wanted some meat and potatoes. I appreciate it! Eh, I personally never really paid attention to reviews for a LONG time. With F13 I never bothered cause the game definitely had jank, but it was fun! But I'm also a diehard F13 fan, haha. I just knew it would've gotten slammed.

It also started as a Kickstarter, so, I wondered if that affected development and if so, how. I thought the development time was growing long in the tooth so they made a deadline and rolled with it. With Hunting Grounds.... Who knows. All I know is that I wish more people would follow Miyamoto's beliefs when it comes to finished and polished titles.

You and I both brother, but honestly, I'll take what I can get. It's sad to see the Predator name not get more attention. Especially on its own. I mean, the best games that have been released with the Predator in it have all been AVP games. Yeah, there are a ton of variables. I think they're just such an incredibly small studio, but it's clear they need some structure or better refinement procedures.

Oh, of course! Believe me, you don't have to remind me, haha. I would never force anything I love or enjoy down anyone else's throat. Especially if they're on the opposite spectrum, not how I roll. I just genuinely had questions is all.

A single player mode would of been enough to push more sales, just a mp is a turn off for some (and how long will servers last). Predator game with alien isolation quality is what we deserver

Maybe next time, hopefully a decent vr game (for me anyway)
 
Just saw someone livestreaming this on YouTube and it looks terrible.

Not only that but apparently it's out? This game has been sent to die. Based on what I've seen it's probably for the best.

It takes few minutes if you want to play as the Predator but it doesn't take long for Fireteam. You can find a match pretty quickly if you choose No Preference.

Which kind of sucks. Not sure the situation the devs found themselves in, but if they tightened up a bunch of the issues and/or dropped the price, which would lower expectation, people might see that the game is really great underneath some of the mess. I wanna play it, but I won't pay the asking price they want for what they have on offer. This would have been a perfect $20 game.

Maybe they can make some quick progress with patches. Looks to have some potential, even though I'm not a fan of it.

Well I hope for their sake the Epic games store money is enough to make sure they can make more games in the future.

This game is as good as dead on the PC.

No....the game is broken at its core level.....it's just not fun to play

  • Game bugs
  • Janky mouse aiming
  • retard ai
  • bullet sponge enemies
  • NetCode
  • Matchmaking errors
  • Graphics and FPS issues

but the fundamental core of the game is boring and broken and I have listed why earlier
I'm sure the paid shills are gonna show up and defend this but this game was shit in the beta....and it's shit now

Friday the 13th at least stuck to the core concept of escaping a supernatural enemy and working together to escape
This game is just run from point a to b and click boxes and shoot at things.....they missed the whole outwit...hunt aspect of the movies

'hats off to nailing the sound and music giving you those feels but that quickly wears off

I am not the paid shill and I am not going to defend its issues. However the game is fun to play and I enjoy it on PC. Not to mention it is one of four games I enjoyed the most this generation gameplay wise. The others are Stealth Inc 2, Hotline Miami 2 and Xeno Crisis.

This just sounds like a Predator 1987 movie. Point A-infiltration zone, p. B-guerrilla camp, p. C-extraction zone.

Also Friday the 13th is not going to scratch the itch of Predator's fans.
 
The negativity and hate towards it is a bit excessive, is there jank? Of course. Are there issues? Of course. But it will get better and better with time. Just like it did with F13, until the court case. :(
It's something that has happened with plenty of other titles and devs. This is not some new situation.

EGS really sucks though. I had a weird situation with them where I preordered the standard, then the deluxe appeared and I wanted it. For awhile I couldn't even buy it, or upgrade. Eventually I could buy it, so I did, and refunded the standard edition. Which I eventually did. However, doing so made my preorder goodies just disappear. When I asked EGS support about it, they basically told me to buy the standard edition again and it should fix it... Wtf?

Really though, game has its issues, but is a lot of fun. Just like F13. But to each their own of course. :)

Really don't care for the reviews, and man I really don't care for that Worth a Buy guy. Especially after all the nonsense he said about DOOM Eternal that was all wrong. I wish people would stop giving him views.

had the game for over 2 days. Have only managed to connect to two games on pc. I cancel search after 15 minutes. This is a joke

Really? I'm playing right now on PC and have had no problems. I've played 5 games in a row and the queues have been 1:30-2:15 every time. I know they're still working on matchmaking, so could have some strange behavior based on platform, region, rank, etc.

Just got into another at 3 minutes. It's not perfect, but it is improving. Honestly I can't imagine launching a game during all this nonsense. Communication is so important and having the team have to work from home sounds stressful AF to me, lmao.

Does anyone feel that the Predator is a bit underpowered? I haven't won a match playing as him yet. Maybe I just need to get better. I haven't unlocked many weapons yet. :D

His reviews truly piss me off and are not representative.

The berserker predator is op as hell and is not comparable to the suporter class of the humans. I discovered that the close combat against the predator with the knife works very well to keep him freeze for a second but the timing is very important to do it.

If you take his reviews too seriously then you're going to get upset.

His reviews are satirical, they are comedy. Having said that when he does like a game (which is rare) it shows, even while still being funny. If he doesn't like a game he will tear it apart in every way possible. Even when I like a game and disagree with a lot of his points I can still get a good laugh out of it because there are a lot of negatives that are true even if they are not a big deal to me.

It's just one man taking the piss out of videogames at the end of the day.

A lot of people feel that way, but there's definitely a particular approach that needs to be done as Preddy. But I'm sure we can expect some buffs in the future.

It's just weird to me cause I've seen a ton of people throwing his reviews around like they have merit. I mean, if it's just a character, that's fine and all. It just removes any element of accuracy IMO.

The thing is... He doesn't lie about anything he deems to be a problem in games so it's a stretch to say his reviews are inaccurate. If you look at his infamous witcher 3 review for example, he's not wrong about anything he says, it's just that those things didn't bother a lot of people or they actually found those aspects to be enjoyable.

He's an old school PC gamer and he likes what he likes. He also doesn't play any PC games with a controller so if the game has shit mouse and keyboard controls then it's immediately going to be in for a bad time on his channel.

A lot of the time (not all the time) my tastes align with his so I will always listen to what he has to say about a game but like with any single reviewer I won't take their word as gospel.

He just says what he thinks, he doesn't care if he upsets anybody and that's why he doesn't get review codes from a lot of publishers. Most publishers don't enjoy seeing their game get torn to shreds the moment the embargo ends. This is a good video that will give you an idea of what he's about:

That bad? I actually had fun with the Friday the 13th game although it got old fast. Glad i didn't impulse buy it then.
