I monitor my son playing this everytime. Have maximum child protection policy turned on for the game, and do not let him use a headset.

He can't friend anyone. Decline all requests, only play games you can't chat in like writing on a sign, and he knows if he tries to talk to anyone on it he gets perma banned from it.

Yeah, same here. They seem to have outgrown it and are focusing on other phone games and PS5 lately but it's a constant concern.

The elder one just hit 11 so he is about to enter the age where he will want to have those kinds of interactions. I'm worried about it but at the same time I understand it's a basic need nowadays. I was exposed in the early days of the Internet at almost his age and luckily didn't have any problems (despite not having any restrictions because my parents were clueless) but the Internet is pretty different now.
