Geez, I wonder how this is going to run on a 970. What do the recommended specs actually mean?!
Grrr! We need more information guys!

If the PC build turns out to be a gimped Windows Store version as with Tomb Raider, then the likelyhood of my buying it moves swiftly towards zero. It would also be a classic Microsoft move; the kernel of a good idea, implemented terribly.
He's probably talking about the Windows Store version of Tomb Raider and the inability to customise the game in any fashion. A lot of these are deal breakers for many people:
- No exclusive fullscreen option (causes problems with tech like multi GPU and variable refresh display technologies G-Sync and FreeSync)
- No way to add the game to Steam (no exe file)
- Can't tweak game files (ini changes or similar)
- No support for overlays (such as performance monitors, frame rate counters)
- No support for injectors (ReShade/SweetFX or similar)
- Can't disable Vsync
Given how DX12 gives exclusive screen controll and everything almost to the dev, the game could conceivably support it.
It will be the first DX12 title beyond Ashes, which is very interesting. That is assuming KI is not DX12 (I hope it is though).

Okay...this
g-sync doesn't require exclusive fullscreen
you can add to steam if you really want to (overlay doesn't work though overlay support is coming
dxtory works as a fps counter on rise of the tomb raider
thought things like aa injectors are liked by pc gamers they are insecure and this platform is about protecting xbox live as a platform (cheating in mutliplayer, etc)
Wow that is heart breaking to read. MS don't you dare do this. I need to wait for more info. I have g sync
So his comments were incorrect? I can use g sync?
Someone else has to confirm that...just saying his comments about g-sync and fullscreen were wrong
I don't see why it wouldn't work though...can't seem to find confirmation anywhere
https://forums.geforce.com/default/...m-the-windows-store-vsync-possible-/?offset=2You cant (yet). Also you can not run it in exclusive full screen mode, only in borderless full screen.
So for people with G-Sync monitor the Windows Store version is a no go, since the Windows Store version is forcing Double or Triple buffered V-Sync in-game.
Also, you can not change the refresh rate in-game in the Windows Store version and the game uses the settings used on the desktop.
But why the code solution must be used only until the launch date? Can't they provide codes to those who buy the game until the Universal Store is up and running?
I don't see any reason why only those who buy the game until a set date are entitled to the free copy if their vision is to provide cross-buy functionality for every game.
I found one comment in the Geforce forums that state that the Windows Store version of ROTR is a no-go for those who want G-sync support (as you can't turn off v-sync). Don't know if a recent patch changed this:

My CPU is below minimum specs, but that has been the case for more games, and I still can run those games just fine. However, doesn't the windows 10 store lock you out from purchasing a game if you are below minimum specs?
It means I think it's weird to see the min specs are essentially equivalent to an Xbox One, while the recommended specs seem pretty high end. What does that even mean? People alway complain PC version are downgraded because of console versions. then they finally make it worth and people still complain.
Hmm, interesting. The line between Xbox and Window is getting thinner and thinner.
Probably has to do with people reselling codes or something? Maybe a way to limit that.
Once account licenses are in place, that won't happen so they don't need to limit them to pre-orders.
I can confirm that v-sync is forced even in the current update
Forgot that killed g-sync...this is a strange thing
Reminds me that v-sync is forced in the backwards compat games on xbox one too...wonder why this is
EDIT: Wish nixxes would speak to this. Lot of FUD about the store and while there are definitely negatives here...would like to know definitively what they are
Recommended Specs: 16GB RAM
Do you know windows store games don't support gsync, right?
Good point, it will be the first DX12 launching in the Windows Store. I would love to see at least some of the problems that people are having with ROTR resolved.
In your post are you talking about one feature specifically or the whole group?
Ah I see. They need to go all in or not bother.
One specific feature? I am not exactly sure what you mean, but DX12 should give a dev control over a lot of things windows and the driver used to be doing.

Related to the topic, this Phil Spencer tweet is great:
You cancelled a pre-order for a game you want to play because someone else get's to play the game on Windows?

that feel when you're no longer above the recommended specs
Well tomb raider also ended up on steam. I have a good feeling about this. So, there's really no chance in hell this is coming on Steam right?

Those specs. What the hell?
This is pretty cool.
But honestly, seeing the recommended specs, if you have the rig to run this, why would you need the Xbox One version seeing it's a single player game?
Gimme that crossbuy for Gears of Wars though.
What if MS is just speccing the Recommended so high that people will just buy the Xbox version?
