America is fucked no matter who wins.

No, not really. Defeating trump will be a clear sign that partisan politics do not supersede reason, and that a younger generation is continuing to exert their political identity they found 8 years ago. That's some hopeful shit.

I rewatching the debate and a good part was when Clinton had to reassure the other world leaders. Clinton temperament and calmness is amazing. I was a little worried but never in doubt again.

TBH say what you will about performances, but I think Clinton did the right thing by prepping hard but still letting Trump strangle himself. Politicians will often prepare themselves by debating against stand-ins who try to emulate the tactics of their opponents, but you still never know exactly what your opponent will bring. By playing round 1 reserved you don't lose any face, but at the same time you're more equipped for the 2nd and 3rd debates. This debate got off to a rocky start but then leveled out as both politicians started feeling comfortable with their debaters. I expect the 2nd debate will bring even more fire from both sides.

It's an ad where a lot of the higher up Republicans are saying that Donald Trump is unfit or dangerous for office, and then ends with one saying it on O'Reilly's show and he gives a deep sigh, which ends the ad. It works insanely well.

That's the one. The one on TV is a 30 second version, though.

Yes, it's a fantastic piece of film, and given what we just saw today in the debates, more relevant than ever.

Did you guys hear? Hillary had a seizure during the debate!

Wow!

No seriously, wow.

I am so ready for November to pass so Trump and his impossibly stupid base can all go back to irrelevancy where they belong.

The Republican Party has reached a new level of stupid I legit didn't even know existed. I think science really has finally gone too far. These are otherwise normally functioning people that straight up revert back to a pre-school level of emotion and logic. It's terrifying that these people are real.

For me, the more I think on it, I think it got off to a rocky start because Hillary was feeling out what kind of Donald Trump showed up. As time wore on, she went for it and found out he's not as difficult to take on as she thought he was.

Finished watching, and Hillary did pretty well. I hope she keeps on the tax return thing .

Hope future moderators took notes. Holt overall as pretty good, but he let Trump get away with far too many interruptions.

I can't believe the US News on this. They are totally trying to make it seem like a draw. Is this some new way to appear unbiased? They tried to show Hillary made a good point and Trimp made a good point. The failed to show the other 89 minutes of Trump being completely destroyed. It's like reality TV we all know who won but they hype the other side to make it seem close to create drama. The Canada news are literally just trying not to laugh. All they could say was well Trump acted like Trump and it wasn't good. Then staring in to the camera with a look of sorry but what can we even say after that.

The first 15 minutes were "maybe" close but he sounded like a rambling, senile old man throughout the rest of this. Honestly, honestly don't understand how anyone could vote for Trump after the debate.
And did I hear this motherfucker basically admit on national TV that "he's smart" for avoiding paying his taxes?

Either way, I feel way more confident that Hill dawg has this in the bag. No worries anymore.

I like how Hillary shut down the email talk. Didn't pussy foot around, not "buts" or "ifs" or "well." Just, "Yeah, I fucked up, I own it. It's over."

Eh I still think it's reasonable to say both sides are not very good. But in this case it kind of devalues the fact that one side is just soooo much worse. Trump is a horror story waiting to happen.

I have been waiting for her to do that for almost a year now. If she just skirts the issue they can always hit her with it, but if she just says it was a screw up and she learned from it, they have to find something new to hit her with and there isn't a lot to choose from.

I'm just happy she went on the offense from the get-go, calling him out on shit before it was even brought up. She managed to do that without coming off as a bully too (which can't be said about Trump). Her delivery came off a little robotic at times, you know, where there are, tiny, little, spaces, between, every, single, word, but I thought she did well over all.

I'm less worried now...

but I'm still worried.

fuck!

Well, Trump has one really big thing to hit her with that's very mean and he wants everyone to know that he has a very mean thing to say to her but he's too much of an adult and that's why he won't make fun of her for bill clinton cheating on her because he's just above letting stuff like that out.

Seriously, Trump spent half the debate either doubling down on insane comments from the past or denying they ever happened. A simple "I screwed up" can go a long way.

Didn't she literally repeat, word for word, the exact same statement she's had on the issue for like a year now?

*immediately after leaving the stage, to the first reporter he could find*

"Mr Trump, what were you most happy about from the debate?"

“I’m very happy that I was able to hold back on the indiscretions with respect to Bill Clinton, because I have a lot of respect for Chelsea Clinton and I just didn’t want to say what I was going to say.”

I went into this hoping I could get an insight on why a person of rational mind would vote for Donald Trump and I shut the debate off after an hour.

Americans should be ashamed this guy got as far as he did. He is truly an idiot.

Not even an idiot in the way George W. Bush was described as an idiot but I actually think Trump would score like a 550 on the SATs.

I believe it was pointed out here, but it was basically him saying people should give him credit for not calling her a bitch or a cunt on stage.

I haven't followed all of her speeches, but her previous responses were worded really poorly--the ones in the Democratic Primary Debates. They were more like a non-apology apology, where she never owned up to anything, but said something along the lines of "there were some mistakes made".

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

She has been saying this for a very long time.

Yep, It was really smart on her part in just taking the blame and moving on. Admitting to mistakes might make her look weak to her detractors but it might make her look more relatable and genuine to the undecided.

CNN reported that he also said he might bring it up next debate
