I think it's annoying, just like yours. I thought of it when you oh-so-cleverly brought up the female thing, as if you had honed in on some really interesting observation (but was too lazy to find it and couldn't remember who had the avatar anyway). And who cares about what avatars are permitted by the mods? Obviously that's not really relevant, either, is it?

Look, get all defensive about it if you want. I was really, really just asking. Attempting to find some psychological underpinning for why I find it annoying and quoting forum rules to me is just about as annoying as the avatar was in the first place, so I wouldn't mind if you wanted to end the discussion now. Thanks for nothing.

Not that I like that dude's avatar - just the opposite. However, you have means at your disposal to deal with it.

In Firefox, right click on the avatar image and select "block images from ...". This blocks all images from that host, so be careful you don't block something you want.

On the Mac, Safari may be able to do this. I'm not sure, my mac is not in front of me. You can run Firefox on it though.

There is no equivalent function in IE, that I know of. If you're using IE, switch to Firefox or die.




Now, someone please get back to discussing FFXI. I don't care for it particularly, but the off-topicness here is PM fodder, not a good thread derail.
