Having picked out a new one for the time being I saw the folder of various avatars I've used over the years of neogaf and was curious as to the habits of other users here. Post any selection of avatars you've used before. I think it's an interesting look into the history of one's use of this forum.

Here are the ones I've used for more than a day or two:

One time, someone stole my avatar a day after I switched from it though. That bummed me out.

From last year's thread:

I don't have my earliest avatars archived anymore, but my first one was of a sad rabbit, cropped from this (Pixar's "Presto!" short):

My second was of Randy (South Park), cropped from a still of him standing outside of Whistlin' Willy's, battered and bruised, and staring into the sky with a gaze of hope (I can't seem to find an image of this, but it's from the episode which features him beating up dads at baseball games).

Next up was a thumbs up from Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks):

And finally, for about the past year, assorted images of Saoirse Ronan. I'm probably missing one or two, and I think the chronological order may be a little off, but I can recall using:

Edit: I never did sport an animated avatar. By time I was working on getting my Twin Peaks-based one in order (Cooper giving the thumbs up as lightning flashes), EviLore pulled the plug.

And in the interest of the thread, other SR avatars that I can remember using, ordered by file name:

Beyond that it's a cigarette smoking skull in a Star Wars Rebel pilot helmet, I think I found it on some t-shirt design online. I stripped it off, added black-and-red outline and transparent background.

I wasn't always an orange but I feel that's how people recognize me now so I'm sticking with it forever. Before this I had a Battlefield 3 one, then my face, then my initials.

While the style of the design on the helmet could change based on the pilot's preference (mine is just a generic "Rebel Ensignia" like Luke's) the general shape and style of the helmet and flight suit for the rebels was pretty standard (only changing if you're flying different ships like B-wings or A-Wing)

Only 3 have been used for great lengths others short time, lately I been changing for a different movie still once every 2-3 days. Speaking of which I think its time to change it again after this post.

This thread is kind of blowing my mind because I mostly recognize people by their avatar and I had no idea who some of these people were until they showed their old avatar.

I've kept Gongoron almost my entire time here at GAF, but I used a generic looking Triforce logo when I was a junior and had a Bane version of my avatar for a bit (which was really funny to me). I also made a really ugly color edit of my current avatar when someone complained about the white background.
