Will the game be functional without a patch and UbiSod account?

The good news, apparently the game is fully functional unpatched from Disc/Card, no patch needed.

The bad news, there's a forced Ubi account login unless you disconnect from the internet, except on Switch which doesn't force the Ubi account at all.

What's the better controller for this game on PC. Dualsense or Xbox 360 controller? I'm leaning towards Dualsense.

The good thing about Ubisoft accounts are the cross platform cloud saves. I started playing AC:Valhalla on PS5 and was able to continue the game from where I left on PC.

That's a bonus in my book.

Seems like an ideal Deck game but I don't want to fuss with figuring out EGS

It's a bonus if it's a menu option, not forced at startup and probably running constantly in the background for those ugly Connect pop up messages.
