Problems with PGR3?

isamu

OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
What do you guys think of all the problems *MENTIONED HERE* regarding PGR3? These complaints are starting to get me worried :(

It seems like people are complaining about being forced to use certain classes of car in the online career mode, but are failing to see that that is the point!

I have played both, and I can say that I prefer PGR3 by a mile. I'm a big Ridge Racer fan, but it truly feels like Ridge Racer: Junior Racer Edition to me. It's way too easy to drift well in my opinion, much like the PSP version.

PGR3 will take a long time for me to master, so the appeal for replaying tracks is higher to me personally over RR6.

Wel isamu, the gamers have spoken. Leave this thread with your head bowed in shame for it has completely backfired on you....

what about the other issues mentioned in the first post?

Why are you guys turning this into an RR6 vs PGR3 thread? All I'm asking what do you make of these alledged issues mentioned in that poster's post? I would hate to have to deal those issues after picking up the game?

Because:

Pgr 3>RR6

and because you're Isamu...

i expected to get more into Gotham (as i loved the previous two) but it hasn't happened yet...

because i can't stop playing ridge.

Ridge isn't the most innovative , sexy tech, super amazing looking game ever, but it's so insanely solid and pick-up-and-play fun that i can't put it down.

it's not something that's going to make people go "oh my god, that's what next gen is all about!!!" - doesn't make it any less fun though.

Have you played the PSP version? Is it challanging like that?

LOL @ the trolls. :lol

I bet half of you haven't even played either game that's why you're dodging the issues. Little do you know I will be buying both games and playing them both to death and enjoying them both, equally. So go ahead, continue to derail the thread not discuss the fact that you can't specify cars or classes in the Live Playtime mode which absolutely sucks!

Can't see who is talking on Live? That's just downright inexcusable.

Please, you don't even have a 360.....

PGR3 is just rushed BS. Nurburgring is bad enough by itself but you can only race B class and my favorite part was the challenge for the platinums which are too easy. I hope they take their sweet time nailing Forza 2 down.

huh? wtf you talking about racing only b class on nurburgring?

*confused*

PGR3 would have benefitted from 60fps - there , i said it.
It is perfectly playable at 30fps, don't get me wrong, but going from the 60fps glory of Ridge it takes a while to adjust back.

If Bizarre really could have eeked out 60fps then they should have waited a month or so. Saying that, fingers crossed for a download patch! :D

All that said - PGR2.5? i don' fink so.

"Have you played the PSP version? Is it challanging like that?"

the X360 gets challenging after about 40 racers or so, but i have been playing it in a "completist" way (doing all the low class races rather than just going through the route to the end classes)

Taken from Computer & Video Games News 30/11/05:

PGR3 TOO EASY, SAY FANS

And they've moaned about a lot of other things in the game too, like unbalanced cars and online restrictions

13:55 You can never please some people. Case in point: Project Gotham Racing 3. Lining up on the start grid for Europe's Xbox 360 launch day this Friday, Bizarre Creations' next-gen racer has already zoomed out in a puff of exhaust fumes in North America - only to have its bumper dented as it collides with a number of criticisms from fans about various aspects of the title.
Bizarre Creations' own community forums have been abuzz with players posting comments of displeasure and concerns since November 22, probably the biggest grumble being that the single-player game is too easy and as such presents a shorter single-player experience than predecessor PGR2. But Xbox Live features have come under fire too, in particular the restriction to certain car classes based on circuit in ranked online modes - although to be fair this has found favour with punters as well. It's turned into a hotbed of debate.

Additional annoyance is levelled at the Ferrari F50, which fans are saying is too powerful and unbalances Xbox Live games, and the bizarre apparent omission of a race-time clock on-screen, meaning that if you want to measure lap times you either have to keep glancing at your watch or employ a scantily clad woman to call out the seconds as you race. Actually, that last bit doesn't sound so bad...
So there you go, Project Gotham Racing 3 is a big steaming poo. Er, well maybe not as there seems to be an equal number of devotees singing its praises too and bear in mind these people are American.

Still there'll always be people who moan, a bit like there'll always be people who shove a trolley up your arse while queuing at the till in Sainsbury's. That's life. Or something. Anyway, we'll have a review of PGR 3 up on these pages soon so keep 'em peeled for our verdict on Bizarre's next-gen burn-up.

The Ferrari F50 thing is not a problem in my experience. Most folks driving them got them so quickly that they can't actually handle the car. Seriously, get into a race with a bunch of F50s and watch half the field spin at every turn. You can catch and pass an F50 with a lesser driver, even if you're driving a lesser car.

Isamu, if the complaints are starting to get you worried, then don't buy it. This is the lamest attempt at starting a flame thread I've ever seen. You've already made it abundantly clear that RR6 rocks your tiny little world and that PGR3 will not measure up. We get it.

THE 430 AND THE F40 BOTH KEEP UP WITH THE F50, THE SLR MCLAREN IS FASTER IN TEH STRAIGHTS?????? A GOOD DRIVER WILL WIN WITH ANY OF THESE CARS. THE FORD GT HOLDS ITS OWN AS WELL

The number 1 problem I am having with pgr3 is that work is really interfering with my play time. Oh, and so is sleep. Sleep is overrated.

Heh I know the feeling :p

Well that's just great, after I blow-dried my hair with the 360 fans the police knocked on the door because the neighbours two roads down complained about how loud the 360 was.

Then I buy PGR3 only to find out that true Force Feedback is not supported by the game. On top of that I read this thread, omgwtf.
