I don't know, but I come from a school of thought where I'm not going to ask you how to write a hashtable unless one of the things you'll be doing for me is writing a hashtable. (And with that answer, thank goodness you wouldn't be writing a hashtable!) Given that you'll be using standard tools and libraries that already include working hashtables, I'd rather ask you about things you actually will be doing, which could include knowing when and where to use one.
Granted, I know at some companies, you'll actually be the one writing the tools and libraries, and therefore, this is something you'll need to know or be able to learn. If you're like me, meaning you're working at a bank and/or writing line of business apps, then the internal implementation details are irrelevant, the pragmatic usage details are what's important.
