I'm not sure, but I think it should be a permanently free just like the other free cars coming in the future.
EDIT: Typo'd
Awesome.

Backed up this one since 3 years ago. Especially last 6 months performance doubled for AMD graphics card users (like me). Also I am using these as starting parameters.
-novr -skipcrowds -pthreads 4
novr disables vr detection.
skipcrowds , well .. skips crowds
pthreads physics threads default is 2, you can 1,2,4 . Max is 4.
There also these which I never tried.
Launch 32bit -x86
DirectX 9 -dx9
Frame rate limiter -fpscap 60
The weird thing about the sim racing community is, what other genre can boast such a high standard across all available titles? Yes, AC, pCars, SCE, rF2, RRRE and iRacing all have their foibles, be it AI, graphics, online, FFB or whatever, but each and every negative a sim racing title has is overshone by a plethora of positives. The sim racing community is filled with angry entitled children.
The FFB is terrible in this game. How did so many people play for so long without complaining bitterly every single day about it?
For a start the wheel (the very popular and common T500RS) goes crazy in menus. MENUS. Then when you get to the game almost all the FFB effects are missing. The wheel only does something when you run over a curb. Lock the breakes... No feeling. Spin the wheels.. No feeling. Turn at 20kms is the same feeling as turning at 200kms with high downforce. So pathetic.
Wheel feel is crucial in racing games, how could they mess up like this and how did the community let them?
Backers == fail.
Oh and I cant start the career because I can't enter my name... God this is fail. Good game in there but right now... Fail.
Can anyone else with the PS4 version confirm that their AI slider only moves in increments of 10%?

There are some dreadful RTSes, awful FPSes, terrible sports games, abhorrent RPGs and obnoxious action games, but racing sims? There's not a bad one out there and we should be grateful to this tiny group of developers who produce such high quality works.
I can confirm that.
This is surprising to hear. I was too busy yesterday and wasn't able to play.
I'm a very early backer and even last year we were giving input that the FFB wasn't up to par. We kept telling them to look at Assetto Corsa for how feedback should be.
Thanks, not just me then.
Now then, considering the PC version has increments of 1%, is it a bug on the PS4 version, or a "feature".
I want 85% AI, not 80% or 90%.............
I have to agree that the FFB is pretty weak in this game. I don't get much feeling to the road compared to AC or even GT6.
Final Build Latest Patch PS4 Impressions:
I've played about 5+ Hours worth of Career mode and I honestly think this game has the best physics out of any car game I've played including Forza's, Gran Turismo's etc. The Caterham and SuperKarts are incredible and the challenge of driving competitively in the wet with 16+ Cars is REAL!
This game feels like it has a better real time physics simulation going on under the hood than anything I've played on console before, including GT5/6 which I personally consider to have a more realistic feel than Forza.
Come into the corners too hot and this game will punish you! However if you've just gone over the limit of traction you can usually adjust your driving line, tap the brake and/or double pump the accelerator and recover. It took some time to click but the simulation here is sublime.
The Career mode feels like its going to be very meaty, I've only completed like three (maybe 4) Championships and a few invitationals and I've used only maybe 5 or 6 cars out of the entire roster. I usually skip practice go straight into qualification and then get on with the Championship at hand. Again I've barely touched the tracklist and or car roster while playing the Career mode as Championships are with one car and can take a while.
Overall this game is rocking. I am not a hardcore racing guy, I don't have a wheel, although would love one. I am only playing the game on intermediate difficulty but I think anyone who has played and enjoyed Forza or Gran Turismo should get something out of this game. Give yourself time with the controls and take it easy the first few laps and work on increasing your speed slow as you do successive laps. Solid 8-9 out 10.
And SONY, where are you on this? Where is your strict QA?
PSN is ridiculously slow these past few days. 2.752 GB/3.833 (54 minutes left) done and it took like more than hour. So rest 16GB will take a day or so I guess. Might as well waited tomorrow for retail release.
Look, this game does deserve a bashing. Especially when they have announced pCars 2 while launching an unfinished and clearly untested game.
BUT... Awesome awaits. There is greatness in this game, just like driveclub it needs time and dev support. And perhaps a round of firing. Seriously, this game WAS NOT TESTED. The wheel moves on its own in menus, you sometimes cant even start a career and right now my PS4 is threatening to turn itself off because of its power settings as it the game is not telling it I am playing. Oh and then there is the car collision physics... and the time my car started a race while doing donuts in the dirt..

Yep, I love the way the cars feel in this. They might have less cars but every one feels very distinct and that to me is way more important.
Q: Who is publishing Project CARS?
A: Project CARS is self-published by Slightly Mad Studios and distributed by Bandai Namco Games.
This game is bloody incredible, exactly what a console sim-racer should be.
Can't believe the complaints about the AI, it's not perfect but so far it's by far the best racing AI I have ever played against in a video game and it's not even close.
A few of my shots. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the game!

Semantical thing, but they have not announced pCARS 2. They have acknowledged that there will be on for us backers and that it's pre-production will and should start at some point after the launch. That's how game development works and it's something that we will all eventually benefit from. This game will still be supported for a longtime and there are some major things coming for it.Look, this game does deserve a bashing. The wheel problem is something I already saw fixed before the release for the D1P so it's weird it's still there, but at least they've acknowledged it and a fix should be coming. The collisions aren't that good even though they've been iterating them for multiple times (I haven't had any major bugs though), but it's something they've once again acknowledged, but I haven't seen them promise any improvements yet.BUT... That's weird; AMD has been on the forum for a long time and I remember them already working together with the dev team to fix some AMD specific issues (I'm not totally sure on this though, it happened a long time ago). There have been many AMD specific performance optimizations that I've benefitted from multiple times during the project so I'd call bullshit on the "articial" stuff.@Nyteshade517 @AMDRadeon @projectcarsgame it's artificial.
I asked him to explain his comment so I'll see if he answers. It seems like he's saying the NVIDIA cards were given an artificial advantage which if true would go against everything SMS said about "not favoring" one company over another.
I keep getting a box pop up on the side saying Pit In right at the beginning. Can I stop this or is it glitching?

Are you sure you're not going too early and getting a drive through penalty?
Oh only 1600x900 =(
Was hoping for wallpaper size 1080p
No clue about g sync, but on my i5 3570k and 670 at 1080p, with certain stuff on ultra and a lot on high, I'm getting anywhere from the mid 60s to 80s regularly in fps. It runs better than I expected. Looks gorgeous. How is the performance on PC? Is G-Sync working with the game?
I was looking into getting a wheel and found a 360 wireless wheel on Craigslist for $10. Couldn't hurt to try it out.
Anyone have experience with this? I don't have CARS yet, but in Shift 2 (which doesn't directly support it) it has a very large dead zone even with deadzone at 0%. Is that what I can expect from games that don't support it directly?
Still, it's better than playing with a controller.

Or did you change your fuel load in the setup and didn't put enough fuel for 2 laps?
