You're staying by BWI? Perfect! Drive to the BWI Rail Station. They have a large parking garage there. The MARC train is the one you want to take. Tickets are $7. The trains leave BWI at 7:50am, 8:45, 11:20,etc. The ride will take less than a half hour and will put you out right at Union Station here in DC. The last three trains to take you back up will be 7:50pm, 9:30, and 10:35pm. The tickets are available for purchase inside the train station from machines or from the Amtrak ticket agents.

You could also drive to Metro's Greenbelt station. The drive to and ride from is definitely longer. But you will be able to get out right at L'Enfant Plaza which is convenient. Metro cards can be bought right at the stations using cash or credit cards. The Metro station managers are also super helpful in buying cards and giving directions.

To be fair, the Boston Tea Party was a specific protest to the Tea Act. Starbucks, in contrast, has nothing to do with Donald Trump or the election (unless I'm genuinely missing something here).

Drawing parallels between the two protests is really kind of absurd... simply because they deal with beverages? I'm really not seeing a connection here. The result of the election is not really comparable to the "no taxation without representation" issues and power struggle as to the extent of Parliament's power being dealt with by the colonies.

Don't take it out on Starbucks.

This is always the problem with protests - there's a small minority who literally want nothing other than to cause shit and smash stuff up. A protest creates an environment in which they can do that and get away with it. Often times the whole protest gets labelled as being violent which is often complete bollocks.

The problem with protesting today is that the whole basis of protesting has been corrupted. This goes for any side of the aisle, it doesn't matter, its hard to know who is a plant inciting violence and who actually is peacefully protesting and who is looking just for anarchy. There is no separation of these people, its all lumped into the "group" that is protesting and its really unfortunate and I have no idea how you can fix that.
