Using a gameplay data sample from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts (courtesy of our partnership with GameInsights, which draws the majority of its PSN data from sources beyond TrueTrophies), we track the debut player count of every PS5 and PS4 game that comes to PS Plus Extra.

This includes July 2024's PS Plus Extra and Premium games, which have seen a 48.67% player count drop compared to June 2024's player count. That's despite the fact that PS Plus Extra added Remnant 2 this month — the third-highest debut on the streaming service this year.

Of course, with June's lineup benefitting from all those Days of Play bonus games, it was inevitable that July would see a drop in player interest. However, if we exclude these bonus games from June 2024's player count, we'd still see an 18.77% player count drop for July 2024's PS Plus Extra games when comparing the two months.

This is about the number of players playing July's games compared to June's, not subscriber numbers. It is in the OP but someone can easily misinterpret. And the actual number is 18%

So it’s really an 18% drop.

Either way, it’s not all that surprising.
