The best VR hardware ever? This will be PlayStation Vita of VR.
Yep, I have no doubt that the software will be really cool for this one. Hopefully we'll see some awesome stuff this week.Hope they produce enough for everyone, this’ll be my first introduction to VR, as I suspect it will be for many now that we’ll see proper games made for it.
It's a weird one cause the business model to support PC (officially) is a bit weak imo unless you bake a profit margin into the device. I don't know if that's possible. Can't the system support PC too?
Sony would be making a killing, if they support PC too.
Asking the real questions! I too would like to know this. I’m never going back to Oculus after the Facebook integration nonsense. This looks like the ideal headset for me and will hopefully be at a decent price!Any news about potential PC compatibility?
No, because the console PSVR2 would be sold at cost if not a loss. If they ever make a Sony PC VR headset, it would be sold at a profit and likely the same price range as Index. Can't the system support PC too?

More like cardboard at the moment.Tell me you all aren’t packing wood right now!
None so far.Any news about potential PC compatibility?
Same here, really hope for it releasing this year.It might not be possible, but PSVR2 would really benefit from being released before Christmas. A perfect gift for PS5 owners.*
*perfect gift to myself![]()
I wonder if some of the 20+ launch games will include updates to existing PSVR1 games? I’d like to think that more of the older games will be playable, but who knows?Same here, really hope for it releasing this year.
Waiting to febuary-ish for it would be unfortunate, but then again... the games being worked on all gain some more development time at the least.
That's the only way I see them selling through that many units. The PC market. Otherwise it would be a 10%+ attach rate on a $300-$400 peripheral. I think PSVR took nine months or so to sell through that many with double the consoles already sold. Can't the system support PC too?

Now this is a good fucking question. Pc compatibility would be incredible.Any news about potential PC compatibility?
Let's face it, if it was sold on PC it would be used for porn, so Sony would likely isolate the marketing to their Electronic department where they sell TVs and don't make content for it specifically.
Your average person wasn't aware of the technical limitations of the first one so I'm not sure why you expect this one to sell so much better. It does still have a wire which most people will notice. And with the ps5 still supply constrained, there will be a limit to how many of these will sell. And psvr2 itself is likely to be supply constrained!Big tings.
I think this is going to take off in a way the original didn't due to much fewer technical limitations, and stronger support from Sony.
Not for the end user.
In theory, Xbox would hope that their subscription model would work out. Either a massive expansion of customers or a massive increase in subscription prices. That is the target, that is what they got to hope for.2023 will be the year.
PS will launch PSVR2.
Nintendo will launch their Switch successor.
Xbox will… fix Halo Infinite?
Casual.Unless it is wireless - not interested.
Convenience always wins.Casual.
There's a reason why competitive fighting tournaments are always done with wired controllers. Less latency.Convenience always wins.
Good thinkg that competitive fighting tournaments are so mainstream...Oh waitThere's a reason why competitive fighting tournaments are always done with wired controllers. Less latency.
I know I'm just poking fun at how this forum is obsessed with TV game modes and low latency but suddenly just settling for "good enough" in VR is fine.Good thinkg that competitive fighting tournaments are so mainstream...Oh wait
Casuals don't care about big latency - as long as it is "good enough", that will suffice.
I do curious about PSVR2 price though.
Casual.

All future VR is wireless.
The new Oculus/Meta prototype they're working on looks just like the Oasis headset in Ready Player One.
Quest will fail because no one wants a shitty Facebook account. FB is filled with mostly inactive accounts and bots, not much real user interaction.
