This guy keeps the firmware updates straight at the Playstation boards, so this is most likely real.

The PLAYSTATION®3 system software version 2.00 update includes the following:

My PS3 will be sexay if true. Hope it's possible to make your own themes though. XMB during games would be awesome, can answer buddy messages, and such. Would be nice if they dont ask if you want to quit the game to answer, or open the browser.

Edit: yea the avatar thing makes it seem like a wishlist. I doubt Sony would allow you to make your own avatar.

For what it's worth, I don't think Sony will ever admit in any PR statement that 720p BR support was added in X.XX update, because it should have been there from the beginning and is an obvious **** up that they will never admit to. It will be a stealth update for sure, with some ambiguous statement like "Enhanced BR playback."

Wow, after this, all that's left is DVD upscaling, 720p Blu-Ray, and PSX/PS2 upscaling oh and all the stuff coming along with Home like the P2P stuff. I hope this comes out ASAP because that's an AMAZING list if true.
