You can set up a web server on your PC and download files from your PC. Only supports MP4 though, it was able to detect the duration of AVI movies but cannot play them back even if they use a mp4 codec. So you'll have to transcode to MP4 with PS3 Video 9 or something similar.

But there needs to be a lot of testing of it. If DTS delayed the decoding algorithms, obviously that is going to delay Sony getting it ready for PS3.

And i wouldn't be surprised to see it happen this week..
hell, nobody thought the ability to play PS1 games on PS3 from the PS Store was going to happen in the 1.70 update but it did..Ofcourse we didnt get any games until a week later. I was pretty surpised to see it just materialize out of thin air like that.
