Yes it has to some extent, xbox360 made it's mark because even though Sony marketing said ps3 was superior everyone knew that the 360 was putting out the better looking versions of games and doing it for less money.

The XB1 deal is not that strong. it is only $20 less than what every retailer is selling that bundle for right now. You can get that down to $315 with a 10% Target or Best Buy coupon.

My SSD'd PC boots roughly twice as fast as my PS4, in my experience.

The 2.0 update has significantly sped up boot times, though, so I need to check it out once the Rest Mode is stable.

Both deals are insane. If I hadn't quit work I would be all over that XBO bundle, of course I'd sell the games since I already played Black Flag on PS4 and will pick Unity next year when it hits $20 or lower (new or used).

But you're getting $100 worth of games on the PS4 for free.

People look for price first, but considering the PS4 is selling so well and still has great demand at $400, being able to get it with two great games can really drive people to purchase. Specially when you're getting it at the same price that it would cost without the games.

Anyway, I'm sure this bundle will be difficult to get in such a day.

It's only a better deal if you don't care whether you get a PS4 or an Xbox One. PS4 has the advantage of being the more desirable console.

People have already played Assassin's Creed, though. It doesn't change much from title to title. Grand Theft Auto and Last of Us are Games of the Year, and that's not an accolade assigned to the AC series. One would be more inclined to go with the higher rated titles and pick up either of the Assassin's Creed games down the road when they invariably drop in price...and probably look and run better too, depending on how this parity thing shakes out.
