Has anyone tried to leave their PS4 on (not standby) for an extended period of time yet? Say, for 24 hours. Is it stable?

So I saw a bit of discussion on this when I searched the thread, but am hoping for a definitive answer:

Are headphones plugged into the controller's headphone jack capable of producing decent in-game audio? I think someone was mentioning that they only heard audio out of one ear. If the jack can produce good audio in both ears, that would be a huge feature for me. Family members often complain about the noise at night.

Tried using remote play today through the internet, but couldn't find my ps4. Was an amazing experience when I played it in my house yesterday, but wanted to give it a shot being out. Any suggestions?

PSU issues, for one. Could be an issue during summertime/holidays when I regularly kept my PS3 on all the time.

looks like I am going to have to see about getting a replacement, my fans are going crazy over any game I play. They go to full speed on anything I play, no matter what I am doing. Two of my friends have ps4's and both of theirs are quiet. I have it properly ventilated as well, this sucks.

Played from 12:30 to 6:30 am launch night.
Friday 12 hours
Saturday 12 hours.
Sunday same

Just had a bunch of people over every day and were marathoning all different games and learning the ins and outs of the new console.

I tried this and it works. It sounds good to me. No different than, say, using headphones from the WiiU gamepad.

The problem with sound coming from one ear might have been the person's headphones not working properly, or he/she didn't have it plugged in all the way. That, or the controller's audio jack is defective.

So I have taken my system out of standby mode maybe 20-30 times total since I got it, and twice when coming out of standby it has no audio at all.

It isn't a big deal, as simply restarting it (or just going back in and out of standby) fixes the issue, and the sound never cuts out mid-use, only when coming out of standby.

But I just thought I'd ask here too if anyone else experienced this bug? (At least, I think it's a bug). It really doesn't even bother me since it is an infrequent thing, but I just want to make sure it isn't indicative of more serious problems to come. Probably something that will go away with the next firmware upgrade (which will likely cause other random temporary nuisances :p )

My PS4 is on standby, green light is on...may be orange but I'm colorblind and can't tell.

Anyway, the fan is running. This is normal right?

Started downloading fifa demo and some other things before bed, put into standby. Continued downloading and installing, finished when I woke up. Amazing little feature.

It's nice that it's actually occurring while in standby mode.

But you know, PS3 and 360 already did that in their own way (automatic shut down after download and install).

Thanks a ton... is there anyway to change this on the fly? Let's say I'm playing in range, want to connect directly, but then want to head upstairs without moving the console... which is better for something like that, wifi or adhoc?

I read somewhere that the PS4 heats up a bit more when seated vertically, because allegedly the bottom vent is closed off that way.

Is this really true? Bottom vent is not really closed off when you sit the console vertically. There's a clear canal through which the air can come through still. Not as open as it would be otherwise, but not blocked off either.

That is the weirdest missing feature to me. Second weirdest being that you can upload video to Facebook... but not YouTube.

I think the trophy rarity thing is pretty cool, do they like bake that info into the Trophy popup window? Like "You unlocked a Super rare Gold trophy"? If not, that would've been cool.

Only thing is the is annoying is having no sound when booting it back up from stand by. Have to shut it down and power it up when it happens to fix. Only bad thing so far.

This might be a dumb question. Can 2 accounts choose the same PS4 to be their primary system? Like can my brother and I both choose our 1 PS4 and play each other's digital content on our own usernames?

Yes you can. I currently have three accounts with all of them set as home PS4.

Dude I cannot figure out why critics are so down on Knack. I am completely blown away by it. The controls are so tight and responsive, and once you get them down combat actually becomes pretty fun and much less punishing. It's all about the dodging. If you can't get that down you'll have a bad time, but it's pretty easy to do so.

Anyway, in parts when Knack grows to giant size I feel like a kid in a candy shop. There's just so much mayhem and destruction and it's so satisfying to just crush everything in your path. I am just so impressed because I went into the game thinking it was going to be boring or something and thus far it's really been great. I'm just starting the fifth chapter in it. I started it at like 9:00pm and I couldn't put it down for the life of me. I should be in bed right now but I wanted to play it some more.

I honestly think this might be the largest discrepancy between how I felt about a game compared to how critics felt. Honestly, I didn't think Killzone: Shadow Fall was that great. It had a lot of areas with really unintuitive controls and such. The graphics were awesome and the gameplay was good in a lot of areas, but by and large I am enjoying Knack far more than I did Killzone for some reason, which is the complete opposite of my expectations.

Basically, Sony don't let the review scores stop you from making a sequel to Knack. I'm not finished with it and I already think it's worth the price I paid. There's a ton of potential in the title.

Likewise. I put it on after a long bout of Killzone and I had to pull myself out of it. It's great fun and I for one enjoy the visuals.

I suppose I'm easy to please.

The one thing I wish we could do is have our facebook or twitter profile pic be displayed at all times to friends and not just for real names.

For example I created a fake FB account, with my real name though, but put an avatar I'd rather use for my profile picture. I like that I can see it on my PS4, but I wish anyone on my friend's list could. I created another user on my PS4 and added me and it didn't show up until exchanged real names with the on the account. Unless I'm missing something here.

I don't wan't the random PSN friend's I've acquired to know my real name, but I'd like for them to see my profile pic and I'd like to see theirs as well. I get the issue of innapropriate content, but they show it anyways if you agree to see their real name.

I'd like to be able to exchange the right to see eachother's facebook profile pic, but not the real name. Seems too much to ask though. Just add a check mark when you send the request. Request to see real name, profile pic, etc. You could then chose to see both, only the name, or only the profile pic.

For those with a vita and PS4 do you need to use the same account on your vita for remote play? I will have an AU PS4 and a Vita tied to a US account at the moment.

Change the input on Your tv To anything and back to the ps4 and you get sound. That's what I do when I boot and have no sound work perfect for me.

Isn't the PS4 a CAV drive, and the PS3 was a CLV drive? Could that mean that when playing a bluray movie, it has to change the spin speed?

But see I want the opposite. I dont want randoms to see my FB profile. Most people are not gonna go to the extreme of making a new FB profile just for PSN.

Yep. I expect Knack to do pretty well sales wise since it seems to be the "second game" that everyone is buying with their PS4. Every stream I watch, every person ive spoken to in real life all have purchased KZ and Knack at least. If that's the case and they end up with a Knack 2 at some point (one could hope), they should really add things like more abilities, puzzles, ways for the player to manipulate Knack to solve the puzzles too, like shedding all your relics at any time you want, changing to wood, ice etc. If they let the player control those things this game has some serious staying power. Maybe Shu is reading this :D

As a launch game overall I am more than happy with what we got though, so don't think this is me bashing it. I love this game.

I just set up my PS4, updated it, and put in the free 30 day plus trial. I had to put in my credit card info to get the free trial, but I don't want it on there, so I'm trying to take it off. When I go to settings>account information>wallet I get an error code wv-33921-8. Anyone know what's going on, or how else I can take out my credit card info?
