Yeah, there's officially an issue with internet on my PS4.

I move the PS4 to a space right next to the router, the best it can muster is 4 Mbps out of the 10-15 Mbps I'm supposed to get. Every time I test the connection I get a different speed, all the way down to 1.0 Mbps in this setup (that is, literally next to the router). But at the very least it doesn't drop the connection every 10 seconds or less.

I hook up the PS4 directly to the router via LAN and I'm getting a NAT Type 2 (isn't that for wireless?) and get marginally better connection. The top I ever got in the internet test was 8.0 Mbps, but that was literally once. I hover around 4 Mbps now, and even got it down to 1.0 Mbps. On a LAN connection. This is fucking ridiculous.

All the appropriate ports have been forwarded, as I mentioned before. Does anybody know a customer service number from Sony I can call? I need technical help and to determine if the LAN/Wi-Fi in my console is fucked because it sure is looking like it right about now.

Oh, ok. I'll try that to see if it's my router that's screwing everything up. It very well may be.

EDIT: Yeah, shit's fucked. Plugged directly into the modem, NAT Type 1, still ~1.1 Mbps. Even got 600 Kbps at one point.

Playing SoundShapes and, since the PSN is down again in some form or fashion (Sony really needs to get in front of this), when it tries to sign in, I get an error message:

"A really bad Sony Entertainment Network error happened."

Gotta love programmers. :)

psn seem to be working fine so far.

the game page is showing background and playing music if they have. the only thing is recent activies appear to be broke.

So I'm having a shitty time with FIFA, first FIFA game ever. Debating trying to trade it in for either NFS Rivals (don't know how long a racer would keep my interest) or something else. . I honestly don't know what to do. This game is frustrating for someone who isn't a big fan of football/soccer.

Alright, so I got my 4th PS4 game today from Amazon and for the third time the game disc was loose in the case. Yeah, in 4 separate shippings from Amazon, 75% of the game discs were loose. Luckily none of the game discs were scratched and as we know in the post-blu-ray world the discs are much more sturdy and can take a lot more beatings than dvds and cds could.

Still, it's 2013 and we live an online shopping world where the majority of people get their games shipped directly to them. I get 99.9% of my games from Amazon or Play-Asia and the percentage that came with the discs loose on PS3/X360/Wii etc... was like 1 in 20 or 1 in 10 at worst. So 5-10%.

It seems like there is a clear difference in how flimsy PS4 game cases are that they can't take the knocking around of being shipped while keeping the game disc firmly gripped. This is not acceptable for a shipped games world. They clearly need to improve the game cases.

- Decrease capture notification latency and make it easier for users to know when video capture begins and ends

- Require demos for all PSN downloadable titles (Users would essentially download the full game, but only have limited access until it is purchased). Games that are available in retail are exempt, but are still recommended to offer demos

- Enable the PS4 to automatically synch trophies online in the background, as they are unlocked

- Allow users to enable or disable various types of notifications in the What’s New section

- Give users the option to enable notification sound effects through the controller’s speakers

- Allow users to change the color of the main menu background. Also allow users to use custom wallpapers.

- Release additional pieces of music for the main menu

- Allow users to dim or disable the controller’s light bar

- Allow users to select favorites, “tag”, “pin”, “flag” and/ or add “stars” to items, for easy and fast access. (eg. Users can choose specific games that are played regularly or friends who they spend more time with) Also, create an icon in the main menu for all favorite items and friends

- Allow users to hide or delete place holder and/ or preinstalled content (eg. Play Room, Music Unlimited, Netflix, Hulu, ect)

- Include the controller’s battery charge on the top portion of the main menu. Also allow users to display the battery charge with a percentage instead of an icon

Also I went to ALL GAMES section in playstation store - scrolled to the bottom and watched some of the upcoming game trailers.

I'm pretty excited about Doki Doki looks adorable!

However... Hohokum looks like a giant sperm flying around... like really? Double pun I guess LOL

I can't see your real name, or Speevy Weevy, or whichever first/last name you have entered now. I can only see Speevybye

So on the activities, it doesn't say Speevy Weevy, or whatever you have entered as first/last name now? It still shows your actual real name that you entered into the system first? This is what it's doing for me and it's so stupid. Right now it says "Speevybye became frieds with A B".
A and B is what I entered as my first and last name when I first setup the system. It still shows that A B under all the activities even though I changed it to something else two days ago.

Maybe I'm still jaded from the ps3 slowly losing functionality in some ways (other OS, BWC, etc) and gaining in others (PSN and xmb improvements mainly) I truly hope we get more freedom, but sometimes... I'm afraid its all going to be pay to get this feature b.s. (*cough* music unlimited *cough*)

Anyway cynacism aside... I love all those ideas and still would like a Facebook or forum type chat option with friends..

The trophy thing made me laugh I about lost my nanners when I thought I was cheated a trophy in Resogun.. turns out I had to exit the app for it to update on my account =P

Really hating FIFA can anyone suggest something worth spending the money I'll get if I sell it. Debating just buying accessories for it or using the money to go towards some new earphones I will use with the PS4.


Also it is AMAZING that Sony allows you to use your own headphones and mic with the controller. Me and my girlfriend keep on talking about how convenient it is. If either of us have work or something to do while the other one wants to play or watch a movie we can plug our own headphones/earphones in the controller. I'm so confused why they didn't mention this in their marketing and advertising. No longer do you have to purchase "gaming headphone" and there are fewer excuses for someone not to have a mic.

Thanks! It worked. Just wish there was no compression. This shot looked so beautiful with the motion blur and dof on my PS4. Doesn't look as hot on my monitor.

PS4 is displaying in low resolution. Seems as if im using AV cables. Ive tried different HDMI cables but still looks like its running in low res.

Any help?

Can I upload videos without uploading to FB, everytime I try it says I need to link to facebook. I don't want to look like a nerd
