Finally joining in just got my us import. Psn:eresspring1
When I first set the console up, I entered letter A as my 1st name and letter B as my last name. Thought I was being clever, and that when I choose on the next step to just use my PSN ID for displaying, I'd never see that A B again.
Right now, every single thing I do on the console shows up in my activity as A B has done this or that. I've even changed that A B to be something more meaningful now (my PSN handle + shortened handle) but it STILL keeps showing A B everywhere even for new recent activity while it uses that new changed name for other things in the UI.
What can I do to get rid of this A B crap?
i tested this on brand new PS4, the wrong name still showing in What's New section & recent activity section.
so it's not PS4 problem it's Database issue 100%, they need to fix their tables and link the first name and last name that is in the recent activity table to the actual account information table where is the first name and last name stored.
to explain it in picture, this is just an example:
Mark Cerny here got his new PS4 , in the setup the system asked him to enter his first name and last name, in the PS3 his first name is Mark and the last name is Cerny so no problem here, but in the PS4 setup he decided or made a mistake and entered his first name as John and last name as Cena and he hit confirm or next.
when he saw that the first and last name got changed to John Cena on everything even on the PS3 he decided to fix it and went to his profile and changed back his first name to Mark and the last name to Cerny.
now everything is fixed but god damn the "What's New section & recent activity section"
still showing John Cena even on brand new PS4.

Yeah, checked over my friend's Facebook and I definitely think the PS4 to Facebook publishing isn't working correctly. He earned two new trophies recently and one showed up in the news feed while the other didn't. Both trophies are nowhere to be found on his timeline. I checked the recent two trophies I've earned and they didn't show up on Facebook either besides under Recent Activity.
I know it's Facebook nonsense but it's annoying when I do decide to link things like this to social services and they don't work properly. PS3 to Facebook always worked properly so I guess it's just one of those kinks to work out.

If you accidentally name request someone and they accept it, is there a way to reverse it without deleting them off your friends list and re-adding them?
Try again. It didn't work for me on day one, but did later. The 30 day MU does not stack, and the 7 day plus from killzone doesn't either, but the 30 day plus from the console did. Pretty sure I had to redeem it using the actual console, not the web store.

I have a 7 day code trial here but I can't redeem it on the PC. What codes CAN be redeemed on the PC without ever owning a PlayStation online device? Is the only way for this to work purchasing directly from the Sony PC store?
The only unit I've ever owned was a PS2 but I'm planning on getting a PS4 in the next two months. I was hoping to get some of the PS+ games tied to my account in case they expire/change by the time I get myself set up. I already have an extra controller, the camera and a 1.5TB HDD to go with the system. I'm just wondering about this PSN+ thing.

FYI, I think you can only see PS4 games in the store from a PS4 itself, not Vita/PSP/PS3/PC as far as future hoarding goes.

You can view all PS4 games on the PC. Even Amazon has a digital PS4 storefront now.

Iv yet to try today but atleast the UK PsStore is offline, hasnt been activated yet, Iv been using the US one since Tuesday, mostly for the F2P games.

Does the PS4 function the same way as the PS3 does in terms of number of active game installs? Like my brother is getting a PS4 as well - if I go over to his house to visit, would I be able to log in on my account and download AC4 to show him the game on his PS4 (I would be getting the digital upgrade for $9.99 since I have the PS3 version atm) and mine still work at home?
EDIT: Nvm, just remembered you need the PS3 disc in the system to play the PS4 version of those games. xD

Bah, I went by my local GameStop and they said they wouldn't be getting new PS4s until March probably... Like wtf, really? They said they WOULD have some bundles, but they come with like 4 games, and I'm not paying for that much for my system with games I don't care about. I hate this whole "bundle everything so people have to buy it" BS stores do.

I saw a new shipment of PS4s at TRU this morning. Even saw one person at the register put back an Xbox One once he found out PS4s were there. I guess Sony was right about the supply.

I live in Europe and if I buy a PS+ subscription from Amazon US with a creditcard. Will I be able to redeem that code in the European PS store? It saves me almost 20 euros.

Nope. You can however redeem the code on a US psn account (its easy to make) and still have PS+ on your EU account since you only have to buy ps+ once per console.
I bought Resogun thru the webstore this week even though I don't have a PS4. I have PS+ so it was free.

We can't change the name displayed in the What's New section right now. As you pointed out, this is definitely a database or a design issue. The name you entered on PS4 is saved to a column other than the first name and last name columns, and they didn't build an interface for users to change the value. I tried to create new PSN accounts on PS3, PSV and their website, this way the PSN ID will be the value of that column (and you can't change it later on)
There is also a bug during the PSN account registration process - Any PSN IDs you tried to put into the textbox will be taken, for example, if you tried AAA123, AAA1234, and eventually registered as something else, the first two IDs are marked as taken in their database as well...

Was curious about Xbox One sales so I checked both Amazon US and UK. Here's my findings:
US:
At launch PS4 basically owned the Top 10 with its games and accesories. Xbox One not so much. Only 6 Xbox One products in the Top 20. This may be proof that PS4 will have the better sales, or it may just be the case of it being closer to the holidays so its harder to dominate the charts like PS4 did a week ago. Maybe a combination of both.
UK:
Xbox One launched today yet PS4 is still outselling the Xbox One. This is probably the biggest indicator of the PS4 having more demand. There's more PS4 games in the Top 20 than there are Xbox One games.
Biggest difference between US and UK? XB1 Exclusives seem to be selling much better in the US.
Can't wait for NPD!
