So FF7 is coming to the PS4?
If you only played exclusives you'd be playing only a handful of games a year. Multiplats are more important because they make up the vast majority of games. You think 360 sold so well for exclusives? This gen PS4 will have the best of both worlds.
So the system is still not available everywhere? I'm surprised it's still sold out. The demand must still be high or Sony is taking their time restocking the channels.Well I got my system today at Best Buy, showed up am hour early and was 7th in line. They had about 20 I believe.
How so? Surely buying a console with games a person has zero interest in for at least the next year, maybe longer is a complete waste of money.
How is that a foolish statement. By waiting he would be able to skip all the issues with launch consoles, a larger library of games would be available and the price may have dropped (at least on some online retails).
You asked whether there is anything better. I answered it's already shaping up to be good. If you don't like what's announced then that's unfortunate for you.Ahh, anyone could have guessed that dude.
Anything new for 2014 that hasnt been announced or revealed yet?
Ok ok WAIT A SECOND, let's recap here because I'm about to have a heart attack.
Did Verendus just hinted at a new/remake Final Fantasy VII game for PS4/next-gen?
Verendus, just say yes or no so I can keep going with my life.
The craziest thing is that, outside of Kinect Sports, the next XB1 only exclusive won't be until summer/fall 2014.
I caught a tweet from ND that vaguely hinted at UC next year so i hope you are right. I just want both Uncharted and The Order next year. You asked whether there is anything better. I answered it's already shaping up to be good. If you don't like what's announced then that's unfortunate for you.
maybe. keep contemplating
Any hints on when the Order is gonna have some gameplay shown or a possible release timeframe?
maybe. keep contemplating
I'd be surprised if gameplay isn't shown at the VGAs considering its a 3 hour event and they had the GameInformer thing going on just recently.
Buying any console on launch day is a foolish concept then. I'm still waiting for my Xbox One to arrive. I could possibly hate all the available games on there as well.
I'm just a damn fool.

We're about a week in from the first launch, and 12 games have been announced that are coming from SCE so far(3 already released), and you are dissatisfied? I don't know how to answer this to be honest. Surely you realise how silly that is.Sony seems like they're holding back big time.
I can see it now
Final Fantasy VII HD
Directed by Nomura
900p exclusive to XBOX
Is a FFVII remake announcement a "MEGATON"? No one wants an HD version of this game. If the story and battle system are the same than I'm not that interested.
We just have different priorities is all. I buy something when i see it as a worthwhile purchase. I love Killzone, enjoy Battlefield and Infamous looks amazing so I'll be buying a PS4 day one when it launches here next week.
The next year has a great deal of games that will fully justify my purchase, but yeah blind buying something just because it's new for it to potentially sit under the TV gathering dust seems odd.
I mean I'm assuming there must be some reason you wanted a PS4 in the first place? You didn't just buy it because you could did you?
Then who cares? Seriously. I'd much rather see news on Demon's Souls II or Santa Monica's new game at this point. Sony seems like they're holding back big time.
Ahh, the Gameinformer thing is a pretty good indicator; you're right. It being three hours though; my first thought is that I really doubt there will be three hours of announcements or anywhere near that. Remember, a lot of the PS4 and One launch event time was taken up by non-announcements.
I purchased it because of the hype train and how much I mocked that poor PS3 console through it's entire existence. I'm a huge Sony fan from the PS1 era, but the PS2/PS3 left a bad taste in my mouth.
Seemed like they did a great job selling the console, so I made the purchase.
BF4 crashed almost every time I played it. Traded it in. I still can't bring myself to play Killzone more than a few moments at a time. Hesitated trading in, but will likely do so this week while value is still high. I have NBA, which I'll play with some GAFers in a league later on.
Resogun won my heart though.

They have done a remarkably shitty job with marketing and revealing their titles. Agent and The Last Guardian were announced years ago and every time they're asked about those titles they either say something completely ambiguous as to when they're going to be released or side step the questions entirely. We've seen nothing out of The Order other than a 15 second CG teaser. Drive Club's marketing has been dreadful. The studio promised footage of a multi car race and it was never shown. Santa Monica's game has been in development for years and we haven't even been told a title. Media Molecule was trotted out at the PS4 unveiling and hasn't been seen since. This goes on and on.
The general consensus is that Microsoft blew their load, but the sentiment that is gaining toward Sony has changed. It went from "Sony is holding their cards close" to "what in the fuck is Sony thinking".
Agent and TLG are exactly the reason why they probably aren't showing games that simply aren't ready to be shown yet, with a final and definitive release timeline.
That only works for certain titles, however. Santa Monica's title has been in development forever. They should be further along than Naughty Dog yet there hasn't been a hint of anything. So that doesn't fly with every title.
True but they did say that instead of just a bunch of trailers there will be extended gameplay demos, I can only be optimistic it wont be a bunch of brand advertising nonsense.
And to be fair for the launch events, i felt like those weren't the greatest events to announce big blockbusters, I was in line and no one in the line even heard about the Uncharted announcement when it happened. I didn't see it until I got home.
Maybe they ran into issues, what do you know?
Im sure if they wanted to Sony could give you a CG trailer of every title thats going to release over the next 2-3 years but whats the point?
They're thinking they're cheaper than their competitor, had a great buzz pre-launch and are now having an amazing start. I also disagree that such a sentiment is gaining traction. Let's not speak for everyone. I've found a good amount of trust from Sony fans since they know not to worry. They have done a remarkably shitty job with marketing and revealing their titles. Very unlikely given the PS4 is easier to develop for and they've had a lot of time. Not to mention that if one of Sony's top studios is having difficulty then that spells disaster for their b tier teams.

You were missing some titles for 2014 and beyond

I'd hold off on that, I don't have any problems with their strategy so far. They just announced a sequel to one of my favorite franchises a week ago. And I'm interested to see what they do at the VGX. It's all about how they handle the upcoming big events. They have done a remarkably shitty job with marketing and revealing their titles.
