Probably because a ton of new UK PS4 owners are all downloading stuff at the same time. On launch (in the US) PSN was horribly slow, but it's pretty fast now....at least last I checked it was.

Doesn't sound like anything is wrong. Disc is just spinning very fast

So I have a question. What color should the light be on the PS4 when I'm using it? Because I really like the blue light but mine seems to be white the whole time. I thought that light was associated with something being broken but the system is working perfectly. Really loving it so far.

Mine is blue during startup and then white during anything else.

Thanks guys. I did have a lot of stuff downloading (well duh - you can't pause or prioritize downloads!), including the Killzone patch. So what I did was I quit the game, let the patch finish downloading, rebooted my PS4 from scratch, installed the patch and then restarted the game. Haven't had the same problem since (only just finished the first mission, so I'm not too far in).

Thanks for your help. Hopefully I won't have any more problems like this.

This is what I'm doing. I was planning on getting KZ as my first (and only - can't spend all to much right now) retail game, mostly since it looks so damn awesome (and also because I did enjoy 2 and 3), but I've come to realize that AC4 is a much better choice for maximizing my singleplayer enjoyment. While I do enjoy some multiplayer every now and then, I really want a meaty singleplayer experience for my PS4 on day 1. So AC4 it is. And of course I'll also be playing Resogun, Flower, some of the F2P games, etc.

I will be getting KZ eventually, but probably not until I can find it with a nice discount.

UK seems to be getting Chinese ones, Nordic countries seem to be getting Japanese ones (yay), not sure about the rest of Europe.

It's kinda been the same way for a while for me to be honest. Kinda weird, my PS3 downloads infinitely faster.

Being able to download stuff from the web store while at work and have it downloading to your PS4 at home is awesome. The store even tells you when it's downloaded and ready to play.

Guys is it possible to jump straight to a notification when it pops up if you are in game or something? I tried pressing the PS button when one pops up but it just takes me to the XMB.

Ok, first downside noticed. I've play a couple games for about 20 minutes each so far and I can see two minor splits in my analog sticks and the left ones texture is rubbing flat already, so yeah that kind of sucks a bit. Will be interested to see how Sony deal with the inevitable phone call in a couple days. Free game or something hopefully.

I have a DualShock 4 now. Though it has a visible white scratch on the touchpad and I will probably get a replacement from the shop tomorrow...

Also, I went to the shops this time last week (lunchtime Eastern Australia) and didn't realise it was Xbox One launch day. But it was unmistakablely PS4 launch day today.

We're both actually newbies ourselves, haha. But we got really addicted to the scores they show of your friends on some of those tutorial mini games and want more scores up there to aim to beat. She gets really competitive. lol. Added!

Since the 15th we have installed Reso/Contrast/Warframe + Flower/DC/Blacklight + KZ/NFS/Skylanders and I believe we still have around 280-290gb free.

This console is perfect.

Controller speaker in game - so good.

Interface / downloads and installs - quick and seamless.

Graphics blew me away. 1080p with decent AA. Next gen really has arrived...

Yeah even though I've mostly been gaming on PC the last several years I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing Killzone and other games look. Especially Resogun.... I mean wow. I guess this is what happens when games aren't limited by 8 year old hardware, and it's only going to get better. I'm betting that Uncharted and The Order 1886 are going to look fuckibg incredible when we finally see them.

You update via USB for the setup. You do need to have the right firmware version for the PS4, the one that is 900MB, the smaller size firmware does not work when you swap hdds.

grabbed mine from the midnight launch- about 14 hours ago. Updating OS was a breeze and took about 5 minutes. Downloaded Resogun and Warframe, played about an hour of each. Resogun is fantastic, great title to kick off with. Warframe doesn't look bad at all compared to PC version though I haven't run side-by-side yet. Still getting to grips with the controller config - finding I keep if I slide during running for a speed boost I tend to pop back up crouching which kills my mojo man. Put 100 hours or so into PC version so I think it's mostly I'm just very used to the kb+m controls. I thought it was pretty neat that it included settings for FOV, DOF and bloom also, Played KZ then for a bit which I mostly enjoyed, start was a bit slow and a few times I got lost and didn't know where I was going (which I actually liked compared to the earlier linear games). By then it was 4am and I need to get some sleep.

Can't wait now to get off work, gonna fire up ACIV and test out remote play.

Oh installs were amazing too. Dunno if it starts doing it just when you pop the disc in or actually start the game? I had the KZ disc in before I started playing warframe for a bit then when I went to play killzone there was practically zero wait time.

Very impressive considering the EU just launched so most aren't even playing it yet and the PS4 version has been hot garbage crashing for the past few weeks. I'm more surprised that the PC players dont eclipse the 360 players considering BF was always a PC franchise.

Damn saw some Xbones at Wal-Mart about a hour ago, but the PS4 is just a legend at retail. Unable to actually see a physical one anywhere lol. I was almost tempted to buy a Xbone to resell, but decided not.

I think I've found a bug in the screenshot stuff. Twice today I've cycled through my AC4 screens in preview mode too quickly and it froze and crashed back to the home screen. Thankfully it didn't end my game though. So yeah don't cycle through your screens too quickly I guess.

I tried Remote Play over the internet for the first time at my in laws house tonight, and was amazed at how good it looked. I was playing Assassins Creed IV and it was awesome, only showed signs of a small amount of lag/graphical distortion once or twice. Controls were perfectly reasonable too. Good work Sony.
