There were no free PS Plus days in my box shame cos I really needed them. Does anyone know If I create a new account and sign up for the 14 day trial, will I be able to temporarily make the new account the master account, and play online with my normal account? Basically can you change the master account on the console back and forth between accounts?

What do you mean by one loud click? There is an audible beep sound that the PS4 makes to indicate it's turning on. That's normal not sure if that's the click sound you mean

Since the 15th we have installed Reso/Contrast/Warframe + Flower/DC/Blacklight + KZ/NFS/Skylanders and I believe we still have around 280-290gb free.

That's not too bad! Think I'll still swap the drives though as the extra space will probably be useful in a few months' time.

You update via USB for the setup. You do need to have the right firmware version for the PS4, the one that is 900MB, the smaller size firmware does not work when you swap hdds.

Thanks, got the USB stick prepared with the PS4 firmware (the recovery version as you mentioned), just got to swap the drives and install it now once it gets here. PS3 firmware is downloaded too for installation later.

Argh, now reconsidering swapping the 1TB in my PS3 into the PS4 again since I noticed 1TB SSHD drives are falling fast in price on Amazon (the first one I saw was £77, there may be cheaper ones), and they were noticeably faster in speed tests.

I might just wait and make do with the 500GB for now since I only have 4 games at the moment anyway, and then buy an SSHD in a few months.

I did the same thing a couple of days back. Replayed the first few bits of the original Resistance. It was more fun than I expected (I expected it to have aged badly). I love some of the crazy weapons that Insomniac came up for this and the Ratchet series.

To those who have Shadow Fall…

A few basic 101 tips…

- Use your OWL a LOT. Especially it's shield ability.
- Shoot in bursts and generally switch weapons instead of reloading.
- Swap your pistol for one of the other Assault rifles or shotties whenever you can.
- Press up on the d-pad constantly for checkpoint marker viewings.
- Hold right on the d-pad for a few seconds to see through walls (but not too long that it gives you away).
- In the dark areas, swipe up for OWL fire mode, and just keep pressing L1 to order him around. Then hold L1 to bring him back. He will be your guiding torch light.
- Stealth is better than all out guns blazing.
- Listen carefully for tasks. Sometimes you'll be fighting waves and waves of enemies unless you heard the command telling you what to do next (e.g. get in the ship).
- Crouch to use the cover system where you can. It will auto cover behind low walls.
