My Gawd, Microsoft am cry, whatever hope Microsoft had for the European market was just obliterated in just one day.

It's really crushing. Xbone start was so quiet despite all their ads. Just no one cared. PS4 is just madness and the 2km+ (1 1/2+ miles) line in front of the Sony center store in Berlin, where a huge show was in place, was just ridiculous. Last time I saw the line was around 19:30 - that's another 4 hours to fill it. o_O

I've been playing my PS3 more the past week or as I need to finish replaying the AC games.... Finished Brotherhood earlier this week (tried some of the Missing DLC and wasn't liking it), now am chipping away at revelations which I think had some major tweaks done to the some of the crafting systems as I do not remember being able to craft OUTSIDE the crafting stations (my guess they added that due to complaints on how terribly cumbersome it was to use the crafting stations)

It's on to AC3 and Liberation (which should be coming via GameFly sometime next week) then I leap into the next gen with Black Flag and I'm really anxious to play....

I have to admit I eventually got meh on AC3. I did finish the game but I just never seemed to feel a click with it.

Feel the opposite though about this one. Suppose it has something to do with the setting and main character being a scoundrel pirate. lol

Plus I think they expanded on the naval combat nicely.

And that's in a country where both the PS4 and Xbox One have a presence. But lets not forget that the PS4 is in countries like Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, Poland, Norway, Netherlands etc. The Xbox One isn't in those countries yet.

Crazy.

Just been to my local GAME to pick up Marvel Lego, twice now both times the queue has been so obscene I can't even get in to browse comfortably.
They were almost out the door of the store 2nd time I went, crazy scenes.

Just unboxed.

First impressions, dat DS4. Cannot be understated.

Charging dock is nice and tiny with a decent weight. Also nice rubber pads for the controller to sit on.

PS4 look looovely. Lighter than expected.

Played a couple of hours of Black Flag while Resogun, Warthunder, DCUO and Killzone were downloading [that much data transfer borked my router 3 times haha, Killzone alone is 40 gigs].

The Dualshock 4 is so good, wow. It's super impressive how good it feels when holding. The index fingers are now on the L2R2 by default, which in turn feel much better because they're curved for more grip. The handles are longer for better grip, the analog sticks feel great. So far not really a fan of the touchpad, but that just might be because it's only used for map navigation in AC.

The console itself is crazy sexy. I just put it in standby mode, first the white lightbar pulses and then switches to this soft yellow. Dualshock is also slowly pulsing a yellow color. I had it positioned horizontally, but I've put it vertically because I want to see that crazy futuristic light bar haha.

Overall I am SUPER impressed by the user interface. It's fast, easy to navigate, extremely pleasing to the eye and ear with its simple layout, blue tints and amazing ambient background music. I play Black Flag, press the PS button and instantly in the XMB. I go to the PSN store, buy PS Plus, Killzone and download some other games. Go back to Black Flag, make a screenshot, send it to one of my friends seamlessly and back to Black Flag. All without loading, without hickups. It's quite remarkable.

Also - I like how you can request the real name of people in your friends list. Makes it way more personal. People I've only known via psn nicknames for 7 years suddenly become "real people". Cool touch.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
Please PSN survive. I'll be home in 30 minutes. :(

The touchpad implementation in AC is rather bad-you can tell that it is still tuned for analog sticks. If you try it in something like Trine 2, you'll notice that it is much much more sensitive.

DS4 is fantastic probably the best controller I've ever held, but my word whoever thought of that LED needs a slap in the face it's not even dark in my room and it's casting shadows already it's ridiculous and being a plasma owner just adds insult to injury.

Patch to turn that shit off please.

A nice touch I saw also by VGA live was the ability to turn the in game music of Need For Speed Rivals off, switch to Sony Music Unlimited to turn on some tunes, and then go back into the game with the music still playing.

Haven't used it myself but cool seeing it work live on the show.

If you just let your PS4 sit at its homescreen for a while and do something else it will automatically try to log-in every few minutes. I left mine alone for 20 minutes and it managed to log-in.

If I can get this FIFA download going from the US store I will be a happy chappy. Resogun, Contrast and BF4 are going, but FIFA just doesn't want to let me buy it!

The light strip should be white while the PS4 is in use. It turns blue while it's powering on, and it stays orange while in standby.

The Library is the de facto download list now.

You cannot customize the main menu, unfortunately.

Customisation will be up in next updates.

An hour and a half since booting it up, still haven't managed to get on PSN, so can't download my games.

I remember, some of the concerns with the Xbox One's DRM was the potential for stuff like launch days to be so overwhelmed people couldn't play any games.

My Xbox One launch was perfect. I can't play any of my games on my PS4.

Loving the PS4 so far. Update from USB was smooth. UI navigation is simple and fast. Just played a little of Killzone and it looks fantastic. Only issue is with PSN servers getting hammered, but that is to be expected for the next 24 hours or so.

Oh, and dat DS4.....banderas.gif

Welcome to two weeks ago and the US launch. :D I know it sucks as you want to play some games but have a little patience. There are also way more PS4s in the homes now between USA and Europe than there are XB1s. I expect today to be a bumpy day on PSN. Would be nice to know what exactly Sony upgraded with PS4 PSN service though.

Is there no longer the trophy "Ding"?

PSN needs to be up and running smoothly for trophy notifications to occur apparently, which is dumb.

I'm still trying to figure out this fucking primary console bs. Can 1 PS4 be the primary console for 2 accounts?

So NFS rivals isn't connecting to the EA servers (I just finished the unskippable tutorial). Is there a way to get around it, or is it just the servers getting hit? Forced online is stupid if there is literally no way to play if the network is down

Oh, and the update system is silly. It doesn't seem to check for an update until you launch the game. So you almost instantly have to quit out and relaunch, nso it installs the latest patch.

And I thought online passes were going away now that we need to have PS+ for online. Yet ACIV seems to want you to register the Uplay passport to play online - they call it an online pass and if you buy used you can buy the online pass from the store.

Is this supposed to matter to me? The result is the same, I downloaded 3 games and was playing them by now on my Xbox One. I haven't even *signed in* yet on my PS4.

This is, by default, the worst console launch I've ever experienced. Because I've never experienced not being able to use basic functionality of my console when I turn it on, lol.

I'm not saying you are in the wrong but we all know why PSN is having a rough time.

This doesn't seem right, unless it is different between USA and Europe. My system grabs updates right away, whether the disc is installing or I buy a game from the store. Could be a PSN is getting crushed issue though.
