guys how do I play a demo from US Store, I'm from EU, dled Trine 2 demo and it's locked from my EU account, how to unlock it?

My friend is hoping to find a PS4 here in Canada before Christmas but it's gonna be tough.

Sent them another email and they got back to me with a code which worked. Woo. Downloading now.

If that is right, the fucking patch is almost as big as the base game.

That's the download for the first part which lets you start the game, watch the intro and play a quick match. It's about 17%, the rest downloads after you start it. It doesn't appear in the downloads, and it takes forever.

You can put the PS4 in standby or play something else though and it'll carry on downloading. I left it overnight in the end it took that long.

So BF4 has lost my campaign save. That's mildly annoying since a) I'm shit at shooters and b) I was playing for several hours yesterday.

On the flip side I beat my previous best on Resogun. Still not completed World 4 yet and still only playing on Rookie lol.

I love games, but I'm crap at them.

I haven't been able to pair my phone with the PS4. The console gives a code which should be inputted on the phone app, but there's no input field. =/

On the iOS app you need to select the PS4 icon (bottom left), then it'll give the opportunity to enter the code.

I keep uploading my BF4 save to PSN after every level I complete out of precaution for loosing my save.

It just tells me it can't find the PS4 system, and there's no input field for the code. Do you have to set the media server (sharing content via Wi-Fi) on on the phone? At least Netflix/YouTube apps didn't need it.

That's basically what Standby mode is for. The console will enter a low-power mode but will keep downloading.

AND installing. Installing is also a critical part of the equation IMO.

Yea I had a couple of freezes exiting the playstation live app ,no shutoffs though, I just think that apps and system just need a couple of firmware upgrades to settle in.

PS4 is a dust magnet just like my PS3.

No it goes into standby when you select it (with a orange light) and will stay like that till you boot it up. Its a low power mode that will download and install games.

Edit: You can also power the USB in standby mode so you can charge your controller while it is off as well. But that has to be setup in the settings.
Edit 2: Also if a patch is released while it is in standby it will download that too.
Final Edit: It will also allow you to turn it on via remote play and send downloads to it to start download from the web store if you are away from it i.e. Your at work and buy a game, it will download for when you get home.

Can you hear the fan in standby? I can't on mine but my friend can on his.

I wish they are going to implant some sort of faster fast forward option when checking out your captures. It's still slow as shit with the press R2 or L2 to skip faster.

I have tried many times but this HDMI-CEC feature confuses me. =/

For me, on my Sony Bravia TV, the process was like this:

1. Enable the HDMI link feature in the system settings on the PS4.
2. Enable HDMI control in the TV settings.
3. Scan for HDMI-controllable devices on the TV.
4. PS4 is found, and can now be controlled by the TV.

EDIT: Ok, so you have a receiver in-between your PS4 and you TV. That might complicate things a bit.

Apparently, CEC doesn't do anything according to the The Sixth Axis blog when you turn on the PS4 via remote play. I've got a cheap HDMI switcher as my TV only has one port and that will switch automatically to any device that just started giving it a signal rather than it being CEC related.

How would I know if it is downloading then lol. This is annoying. So I can quit the game and it will continue downloading, but I have know way of knowing that it is still downloading.

You can go into the system memory and track the download, but I also think you can click options and see it that way to.

It seems to always be running in standby, if only at its absolute lowest speed. There's always a faint whirring coming from my PS4 when it's in standby.

Thanks, clicked options and it's there. Looks like it is going less than 1MB/s... 10x slower than what I can do lol. This is going to take all night and then some.

Killzone and Battlefield works, AC4 for the open environments.. altough my gf remarked that it didnt look a lot like a new gen.

One vote for Need for Speed here. Goddamn that game is beautiful. I still suck at it, not that good in racers, but ho-lieee shit does it look nice on PS4.

One thing that annoys me is that there seems to be no way to get the audio to be output only through the optical out. Even with that selected as the primary audio output, sound is still being output over HDMI as well. I don't want to hear my PS4 through my TV speakers, just through my surround system. Sure, I can just lower my TV volume (muting doesn't work, because that leaves an ugly icon on-screen), but it's still annoying.

Just tried the boxed PS4 headset for the first time and it doesn't fit into either of the 2 controllers I have. It's a loose connection so it doesn't provide a constant signal. A bit shit really, lives up to the cheap feel it has.
