Just got off the phone with the PS helpdesk. Turns out my launch model has a hardware fault and it has to be sent back for replacement.
My model was constantly trying to eject disks even when no disk was present in the system. One time it ejected KZ putting an abrupt ending to my gaming session and sending me back 40 mins. It wouldn't allow me to put the disk back in the system until I unplugged it solving the issue for a couple of days.
Such a shame, just got my Resogun platinum and was kind of getting in the swing of things... Then again there are worse problems, hopefully the next model is made in Japan haha.

Oh. Well then, damn! I imagine the USB ports were also intentionally raised ever-so-slightly ahead of the disc tray to make it easier to plug in accessories.

Hey, finally someone else that got this on PS3!
Nah it seems to be fixed on PS4. I downloaded 2K14 which was like 40GB and didn't have an issue, meanwhile I can't get the 12GB Dragons Dogma to install on my PS3. But then again, there's no content on PSN on PS4 so I can't be sure it's fixed just yet.

My DS4 creaked on both handles, tightened it with a standard tiny Phillips screw driver.
Had an issue trying to start/join a party chat last night but it was resolved by restarting the PS4. Hate getting errors though, annoying.
I hope I can get an answer about this because I'm planning on changing the RGB Range to Full, like I had on the PS3. I didn't notice my blacks being crushed or any loss of detail, only an improvement in color.
I'd like to do the same on the PS4 but what should I set for YPb/CB Pr/Cr range? PS3 had the Super-White setting and was wondering if it was the same or similar? Thanks!

It's really good. I play it as an "interlude" game, a few chapters everyday. Haven't checked out the DLC yet, though I will once I'm done. If you haven't played sound shapes yet, you should try that as well. The death modes (once you beat the game) are so awesome!!!

Is the Share button bugged right now? I was under the impression that it saves the last 15 minutes from when you press the share button. Instead of doing that mine took a 15 minute chunk from way before then.

So, I can't decide between BF4 or Killzone. I've heard alot of bad things about killzone and BF4 is supposed to be a buggy mess right now. I also love that Omar is in BF4, but Killzone is supposed to look better and I kind of just want to get one to see the power of the machine. Any suggestions anyone?

I bought Killzone to see the graphical power of the machine, but I regret it quite a lot. It looks amazing, but the game itself isn't really good. I basically threw away 60 euros on a graphical showcase, haven't even played the game since launch.

Killzone looks great but the campaign story suffers from poor writing. Multiplayer is a fucking blast though!

I'm in sequence 11 and I don't want it to end. I'm at about 35 hours, way longer than I expected. Despite its problems, it's excellent. Could even be my game of the year...

Anyone else have loose plastic handles on their DS4?
The plastic on the handles seem to be loose and wobbly, I contacted Sony Support and they told me to send my controller in and they'll take a look at it.
The thing is that i'll be without a controller for 10 days...
The cs rep told me if I didn't want to be without a controller for 10 days that I should just buy a new controller.

That's a sucky customer service response although I'm surprised they even take in controllers
Others with similar problems have said that you can solve it most of the time by tightening the 4 screws on the back of the controller (just 4 Phillips screws)
I'd say try that before you try anything else

After realizing I am lazy, I suddenly get the reason to DL games digitally.

Been playing a bunch of Resogun and AC4 (digital version) and my PS4 is super quiet. Played about 10 minutes of Killzone off the disc yesterday and it sounds like a jet engine. Is that normal?
Amazon.de currently has a "buy 3 pay 2" PS4 games offer for people who pre-ordered a PS4.
Unfortunately, the free game has to be one of the Sony games, so it's either Knack or Killzone. I just can't decide between these two, can anyone help me? Or should I just take DriveClub, even though it's not out yet, as that is a possibility as well?

If it's still copying to the HDD then yeah. Once that's done it will quieten down.
I had the same problem and decided it was not normal. As soon as the gameplay started in kz it would go to jet engine mode. I returned it and bought a new one. I thought I would wait a month to get it but apparently it will be there in a couple of days. I'll update this thread with my impressions of loud versus silent ps4 hopefully

It's funny, after reading lots of complaints about this game I feel as though I've been playing a different game to everyone else, as I've played up to chapter 7 and have been really enjoying it so far. Game play is a lot more varied than I was expecting and the OWL mixes things up so much. I also like the slower pace as it doesn't feel like the typical FPS shooting gallery, and it feels like a real science fiction game rather than the usual military shooter in space.
I finished COD:BlackOps (the first COD game I've played) recently and the single player in Shadowfall is just so much better. So is it just that Shadowfall isn't what's expected as an FPS game? Is it just that most other FPS games get scored on the multiplayer and the single/story player campaign gets ignored or simply not played?
This is the PS4 launch thread, so this is starting to veer a bit off topic. I will say that initially the opening tutorial kind of level didn't leave a good impression, and when I hit that first open level I was completely lost until I really learned to use all the tools the game gives you. But once you get past that learning curve it's a lot of fun. Well in terms of a gritty depressing sci-fi shooter anyway.
