PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

How long did it take you to finish SP?

It's not a long SP. I don't know how long i played. I have little time to play games so i mostly play a level at best. But i couldn't put this game down.
Guessing, maybe 6 to 7 hours. But if you want it to be longer and more memorable play on the hardets difficulty. You will get an asskicking in some levels though.

I thought i was at the end of the game three times. So it was longer than i feared and those last levels were amazing.

Edit: For the new page

Oh my god. Wow, and this is just Titanfall 2.

wow

Why didn't Sony just release shots like this back when they officially announced the pro? I feel like it would have cleared up a lot of confusion and hesitation for people.

My first experience with down sampling on my 60" 1080P display was a few months ago when someone here posted a link to a mod that allowed TAA in Alien Isolation.

Even though my Radeon 390 only allows it to work from 1440 resolution, my jaw dropped. It looked absolutely amazing as people gushing in that thread tried to explain.

I'm happy to see a similar reaction for the PS4 Pro's downsampling of an even higher resolution.

some titanfall 2 screenshots:

abload and cubeupload are not possible because the files are to big, i hope Google is also ok.

Im not really sure if Titanfall2 is using HDR because I have no idea how to find out.

I will post some more stuff tomorrow

Did a quick count of the first shot and its coming in around 2560, so probably 1440p. Pro mode could be dynamically scaling as well note.

Did anyone who preordered on Amazon get an email to get £20 off Dishonoured 2 and £12 off COD?

I had Dishonoured 2 ordered along with my Pro...

Still rocking a 720p TV in my room. Looking to upgrade to a 1080p TV in the 32-40 inch range (can't afford a 4K TV atm). Any suggestions?

My budget is ~$500. As for waiting another 2-3 years, I could, but I would be more than satisfied with the supersampling the Pro will do.

That's in the striking distance of 40" Samsung KU6300
http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-usage/hdr-gaming/best

Which happens to be $400 at best buy currently, the ku6290 are $330 which is pretty close to the ku6300. I think there is additional discount too somewhere.
Price is for the 40"

EDIT: PC Richards may have a new sub $25 off coupon YMMV

Whilst it would be fine for 4K gaming, it has less than half the peak brightness required for HDR Premium certification (420 nits vs 1000nits).

My advice would be to wait until next years 4K HDR TV's are available. HDR Premium standards should trickle down to the mid range TV's, and be far more future proof.

I mean, that guy is rocking a 720p TV in 2016. I don't think he's too concerned with HDR. :p

Wait I'm confused. Aren't those Pro screenshots from someone running it on a 4K TV?

How do we know it actually uses supersampling when it's running at 1080p?

Compressing a 4K shot to 1080p doesn't mean that's what it's going to look like for 1080p users? What am I missing here?

My guess is, the game is dynamically scaling from 1440p to 1080p based on load. I hope the FPS stays as consistent as PS4's is.

PS4 goes up to 1080p and can drop down to 720p...XB1 can go up to 900p apparently and go down to 480p in order to keep the FPS consistent at points.

That is exactly what it means. You take a high res image and condense it down to a smaller resolution. That is what supersampling is. The Pro res in these shots is supposedly around 1440p. Your downsampling that to 1080p when you run that internal res on a 1080p television. Same concept.

If Titanfall 2 and BF1 are both around 1000p in resolution normally, then I'm very much hoping that BF1 on the Pro has that kind of IQ. That looks gorgeous.

The look of utter disgust an employee gave me once for trying to buy a game a few days early has scarred me for life. I'll just patiently wait for my shipment :(

I understand what supersampling IS. But does Titanfall 2 actually support it for 1080p displays? Because I can't find a confirmation of that online or in the patch notes that have Pro support and it seems everyone is making assumptions based on condensed screenshots.

Not every game has multiple modes based on what TV you have you know? Especially since Titanfall has a dynamic res, this is probably the only Pro mode available. In which case, what the Pro mode is actually rendering on screen will be the same regardless of if you have a 4K television or a 1080p television.

Repsawn have already said on GAF that their Pro mode is essentially rendering at a higher res than 1080p while pushing particles, shadow maps and such.

I get you but I still feel we don't have actual representation of 1080p games yet and people should reserve their excitement until we see better proof. This isn't it.

What level of proof exactly is going to satisfy you? We're looking at fidelity, from an actual game. You have literal comparison shots. Why does this not count?
