I'll probably preorder from Best Buy. Love VR and want to see what enhancements happen! Plus 14 day return policy with no restocking fees lets me see the difference in person and see if it's worth it. I'm going to guess it will be.

Planning on picking one up nearer the holidays. I'm giving the old ps4 to my cousin as a present but that gives me some time to see just how much of a difference I can expect from it. Not gonna lie, wish I had one ready for FFXV but I guess I'll just play it twice.

The Pro looks sexy lying down. Why did they stand it up at the show? I think it looks ugly that way.
I think they will have some sort of Black Friday bundle to push fence sitters and existing PS4 owners. My prediction is watch dogs 2

I still don't understand why people think the PS4 Pro is ugly. I think that the slim looks too flat and plain, whereas the fuller look and more streamlined curves of the PS4 Pro make it look much more stable and refined.
Not to mention the Pro actually has a lighter instead of the slim's LED's.

Xbox One OG even with it's VCRness is no where near the Super Slim.
PS4 Slim and Pro look good. Nothing mindblowing but still sleek. Really didn't understand the reaction of large parts of GAF to the Slim. Especially the ones that said OG PS4 was some sort of masterpiece and the Slim looked like garbage.

OG PS4 had a nice design but felt and looked cheap as fuck up close
OG Xbox One design wise is fine it's just too freaking huge, up close it feels nice and premium though

And no Xbox One even the orignal looked clean and slick.
PS4 design is just too busy. Those useless gap feels weird.
Never seen this type of design on any electronic device.

For me personally, it's the cheap look of the slab of matte black plastic. They badly needed a flourish somewhere to change up the materials, but it's just not there. They've gone with materials that don't gel with the 'premium' moniker. It looks way cheaper than the launch PS4; something I understand with the Slim design, but not with the Pro. It should have looked more high-end, plain and simple.
I know from the PS3 Slim that Sony's brand of matte white plastic looks a hell of a lot better, so for me it's very disappointing that it's not available at launch.
That said, it looks better in person (afaik from that one single picture).

Has anyone preordered a console with Target online before?
Says it'll arrive "on or shortly after release date." I've had it preordered for about a month. I don't trust them, but wanted to use my Red card. I just picked up a 4K TV, so my hype for this greatly increased. I'll be out of town the weekend it releases, so a few days late won't be an issue.

I may get one next year if and when I get a really good, decently priced 4K TV. By then there should be some good deals on the console.
I just can't justify buying one now without 4K for games that will look a bit better or smoother. I'd rather wait and play them in their full glory.
Although by that point I do wonder how long before either another revision or when PS5 drops. If we are only looking at say another 2 years of this gen or next year Sony has plans for a second upgrade. Im happy with the PS4 TBH without a need to upgrade.

I am glad your tastes are in the minority when it comes to looks of game consoles. I barely heard anyone ever say the OG Xbox one is better looking that OG PS4. One was bulky with an external power supply and PS4 was small, sleek with a built in power supply. Xbox one s is definitely better looking that PS4 slim tho
You might want to hold off on rocket league. I'm afraid once you start playing it......it's the only game you are going to be playing for awhile. Yes it's that addictive

Depends on viewing distance. My eyes are ~0.6m from my 32" monitor, and I still feel the IQ at 4K could be improved upon.

Does anyone know how stringent Amazon is about trade-ins matching exactly? I have the second PS4 revision with the matte hard drive bay cover, but the Launch Day Bundles are trading in much higher. Would they even notice?

No word from them but if I had to guess: Better framerate, not locked 60 because of the CPU. Hits 1080p or slightly above due to dynamic framebuffer. Additional effects. (SSR please)
