PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

Speaking of the pro, are there any gaf memebers/Worst Buy employees whom are aware of any upcoming trade in deals on the 500 GB Ps4?

In Canada, EB Games is offering $210 credit for the OG PS4 when trading towards a PS4 Pro. Taking into considering that this saves on tax, it comes out quite reasonable. I live in a smaller part of Canada where Kijiji traffic isn't great, so the offer is close to being competitive.

Because Sony went through the extra effort/cost to implement SATA3 when they could have stayed with SATA2.

It's not unreasonable to believe that an SSD won't provide a good benefit.

I would like to see someone do a comparison here as well. Hopefully we may see some in the wild this week.

SSD on the original ps4 barely did anything for games. Why are people so sure that the pro will be different?

~12% average.

PS4 was bottlenecked by SATA 2.0, and wasn't even running that at full speeds. SSD require SATA 3.0 at minimum to get a good boost in load preformance.

So lets wait and see. But it SATA 3.0 is fully implemented, there should be significant* performance over a regular HDD.

*For tech geeks. 25%-35% might not be so significant for run of the mill gamers.

I can't decide if I should sell my 20th Anniversary PS4 for a Pro. On one hand I really like the look of the Anniversary edition and on the other I would really like to get the most out of the games I play on PS4 so I just don't know.
How much ya trying to get for it? I might be interested.

Yeah I'm not interested in buying, but I am curious as to how much those go for. They seem rare but maybe there are enough to go around? I think it's really cool looking.
I actually have one but always wanted 'one to stock and one to rock'. Mine is still unopened.
I haven't looked too much into it yet so I don't have any idea of what they're going for.
Let me know though if you decide on that. ;)

Spoil yourself with The Last of Us 60fps mode on PS4 Pro.
The Last of Us is already 60fps on PS4, which with my recently exposure to 4K further cements my opinion that 1080p enhanced graphics are the holy grail the PS4 Pro and everything else is a waste of power.

That's just not true.

The difference between a HDD and any SSD, even a SATA 2 one, is huge.
I used the same SATA 3 SSD in both a SATA 2 and SATA 3 configuration and, outside of benches, couldn't see any real difference.

The PS4 not being able fully use a SATA2 connection is the problem, not SATA2 SSDs.

It is very unlikely that Horizon Zero Dawn will be bundled for free at launch so what would be the point of waiting for that?
I don't see why it's very unlikely, as it's one of Sony's showcase titles for Pro mode. It also doesn't necessarily have to be a free add-in, either; it could be a $450 package or $500 if it's some sort of limited edition console. It's not unusual these days for new games to immediately be offered as part of a bundle (FFXV, UC4, Gears 4, QB, etc. all come to mind)

Devs can have 1080p Ultra or 4K versions of the game, more options better.

Also you never seen 4K in person uh?

Does anyone know how stringent Amazon is about trade-ins matching exactly? I have the second PS4 revision with the matte hard drive bay cover, but the Launch Day Bundles are trading in much higher. Would they even notice?

Don't be an ass. Someone is going to buy that console off of Amazon, so if they don't notice, you screw another customer over.

Anyone else with a 2TB HDD in their PS4 unsure of what to do?

Is there a point in transferring anything if I don't mind reinstalling/downloading games? Aren't all game saves in the cloud anyway?

Bullshit......I have an SSD in my PS4 right now and it's fucking light and day compared to a stock drive. I'm the first to load everything in multiplayer and when we have game nights for stuff such as fallout 4 it's painful to watch other plays but my load screens are insanely different compared to my friends

Downloading saves from the cloud is a pain in the ass because you have to do it game by game

Yikes, forget that. Thanks for letting me know.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to transfer only saves to an external. If not, I'll probably uninstall as many games as possible before initiating that long transfer.

I have a 2tb drive in my PS4. I do have a 1tb external and want to know if I can transfer my games etc along as I stay under 1tb? Not sure how this works.

Yes as long as it fits on your external you're fine. I'm backing up my 2tb to a 500gb external
