I'm curious what kind of drive they stuck in the pro as well. Brand/part number?
Guessing they stick with HGST drives, or whatever is in the 1tb slim.
As I said in another thread, just one sample isn't enough, a poor chip and dodgy paste will make it much louder than a good chip and good paste. One review could measure a unit exactly the same way and get totally different results.

Where do they sell those individually in case someone doesn't want to use the orginal cable? Does a standard one work on PS4 PRO? Which criterion should anyone consider before buying a separate one?

It's a 3 pin electric cable.
You can buy them from DIY stores, probably larger supermarkets with home electrical sections.

Nah. I thought it was a special cable that we need to pay attention to certain specifications to be compatible with the PS4 PRO. You know the PS4 PRO HDMI cable is a HDMI 2.0 Premiium Cable otherwise we won't get 4K signal.
Anyway I hope the PS3 power cable can work with it.

My OG PS4 is quiet, can't say it's ever been bothersome. Much quieter than the Elite 360 and 60GB PS3 that it replaced

I have a sound engineering background. My 360 and PS3 annoyed the hell out of me for noise and a 50/60hz hum will drive me nuts.
Replaced thermal grease on my 360 and PS3. The 360 also got car acoustic matting on its interior shell to reduce noise.
Must be really lucky!
With all this big mac talk, I think that's what I mostly want right now, and I don't even like big macs that much. Feel like this is a lost marketing opportunity for Sony and mcdonalds. "The all new big mac pro, ready to go, so you can spend more time with your PS4 pro".

It appears that the power cable has 2 pins and not 3.
Why did they switch to a 3-pin sized power connector but with only 2 pins?

PS4 Pro doesn't have/use 3rd pin which is Ground. But standard computer power cable should still fit and work.
It doesn't make a difference. You can use any generic 3 or 2 pin cable with the machine.
Well that's different.
I did wonder why something rated for 310w would need a 3pin.
The PS4x4 tower is awesome.
The 360 power brick did the same thing, it's just the earth wire that's not hooked up to the plug, only live and neutral are
