PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

This is helpful! Am I safe stacking my Xbox One S on top of the Pro? I have no space left in my cabinet! The ventilation is still good around the console's.

I had the pro on all night transferring stuff and it was mildly warm this morning - I've yet to test it under load, but I imagine it's gonna be a bad idea to put 2 heat-producing things on top of each other :-/

Yeah it's a kettle lead.

On the one hand - at least it's not proprietary, since every PC comes with that kind of power cord.
On the other hand, those cords have a much thicker, less flexible cable and are therefore a bit more of a hassle when doing cable management.

Now that we can put those "It's fucking massive!" questions to rest. Can you post some uncompressed .png pictures if you have Uncharted 4 or any of the games which were patched for pro?

I can, but not yet :) happy to take questions to answer in my review that'll be going up...... Soon.

Also uploading it to a host that doesn't compress images would be great such as abload.de

Thick doesn't have to mean less flexible, but you do have to spend a bit more for a cable with a decent sheath. The one the console comes with most likely be a stiff plasticky one tho.

looks like it from the pictures.
the issue with these cables is that you can't tightly wrap excess cable up in a 'slim' way, but rather have to just create a circular loop due to less flex.

It's not a dealbreaker, and certainly not as bad as an external power brick, still - on that front- it's an ever so slight downgrade.

Can someone seriously just boot up DOOM and play for 10 minutes and report on the noise of the console?

well, doom hasn't had a Pro patch, has it? i'd suggest uncharted (which already made the fans speed up on the OG ps4 and has received a pro patch) or Infamous Second Son (Same reason)

I find it odd that there are complaints about too many options.

You don't have to bother, really, nothing changes. If you have a 1080p TV, it will be defaulted to what the developer think is best for this mode and same goes for 4k TV's.

I'm not surprised after seeing people say they don't PC game because of too many options lol.

OG PS4 sold for $230.00 hoping I find a pro this weekend I'm off for 6 more days and the pro arrives from Amazon on the same day I go back to work.

Keep refreshing threads for any small new tidbits, its gonna be a very long 6 days. Reminds me of PS4 launch but I think I may be even more hyped. 4K is great but 4K+HDR has me really hyped, something PC is lacking - for now.

Up until today wasn't able to pre-order online through Best Buy for in-store pick up. Was just able to, got the $25 back from AmEx too. Nice.

I had mine pre ordered for in-store pickup, but today i went to GS before work and paid off my pre order in full and very politely (ehm) asked the store rep to make sure when I come on the 10th, they have a unit ready for me.

They're not doing a midnight launch, but they're gonna open 1 hour early and close 1 hour late on 10th. The store manager said that he wanted to do midnight but it was an order from corporate to not do it.

Pretty disappointing news day for Pro.

I was expecting solid coverage from yesterday until launch, but apart from some unboxings, basically nothing :(
