PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

Where do they sell those individually in case someone doesn't want to use the orginal cable? Does a standard one work on PS4 PRO? Which criterion should anyone consider before buying a separate one?

This is standard IEC 320 cable which every PC power supply uses as far as I can tell from plug shape.

Just got an email from amazon saying that because I ordered a PS4 pro they've given me a £20 off discount on Dishonoured 2. CHEERS BOYS!

They gave me one for infinite warfare too which knocked the price down to £34 but I'm not gonna use it as it doesn't include the one which has MWR on it. The only reason I'd buy IW is for MWR..... and I'm sure as hell not paying £64 for it! Is there a thread on here where I can give that voucher code for IW away?

the Pro isn't that huge, it's slightly wider than the Xbox One S HOWEVER, the Xbox One S is extremely smaller in depth. Overall volume the S is a lot smaller than the Pro

Just received Amazon UK codes to get Dishonoured 2 and CoD at reduced prices. Just purchased D2 with a Last of Us code to come for £18.

Hi, I got those discount codes for COD IW: Standard Plus edition and Dishonored 2 from Amazon too - I'm not intending to use them.

Feel free to PM me if you want them - first come, first served.

EDIT: Dishonored 2 code taken :)

So second attempt to buy at Walmart today failed. Lol. The cashier wanted to override the no sale saying nothing in their system had a release date and the computer locked out the SKU. She was told by mgr. no override.

Lol, expected, but worth a shot.

here's a pic illustrating the depth difference between the Pro and Xbox One S I was describing:

good try. I'm tried best buy yesterday but it was all guys working there, they all said "it comes out next week". Gonna try Walmart in Long Island.

It sounds like folks getting those discount codes are from the UK or EU? (I guess it's still technically all the EU right now, right?)

I wonder if the US will do something too.

Whats the best deal going for PS4 in the states right now? I heard some retailers are including Call if Duty today and tomorrow. Any good sales or preorder deals?

I believe that's just for PS4 Slim models.

I don't recall seeing any preorder deals anywhere, except for the apparent discounts people are getting on additional games in the UK.

Just noticed on simplygames site on the Pro listing it has this...."Delivery: FREE Delivery on Monday (Orders placed before 9.00am Sunday)".

Would they release it 3 days early?? Surely they'd get a slap on the wrist for that?

Yeah I got mine for £18 after the prime discount! I saw the thing about The Last of Us. Are we getting that too? I didn't see a code for it...

By the way, I've got a discount code for Infinite Warfare. Non legacy edition. Code reduces it to £34. Amazon UK. PM me if interested, first come first serve!

"It is releasing today... for free"

Lol. They actually were clueless. It was all polite conversation. I didn't hassle them. They were assuming it was coming out with the new CoD since it was on the back of the box. They were all nice.

What if you're adamant that it's supposed to come out today to the manager? They don't really know.
I work in the electronics department at a store very similar to Walmart. We may not have the same inventory system, but I know for certain that they must have a release date tied to the UPC they can look up. There is a "release date" set for each product that can be sold. In fact, some product that comes in freight isn't always listed as new. So, the associate will look the product up in the inventory and find the release date, and shelve it back inside of the stock room until it comes out. Product that isn't supposed to be sold yet should never be on the floor. I am sure that once the person in charge at that Walmart found out that an associate sold the PS4 PRo early (a highly sought out device) they packaged it back up and put in their stock room until the official release date.
Besides, the new high end merchandise usually comes in packaging with a huge "DO NOT SELL UNTIL x DATE" with some notice of consequences if done so. Not sure what the consequences are though...

Not the greatest news from Digital Foundry in regards to Pro so far

Also, Richard seems adamant that there will be zero differences in games played on PS4 and PS4Pro without a patch, even though according to his notes, Cerny told him that the only thing they did to emulate the original PS4, was to downclock the GPU and CPU to base PS4 clock, and shut off half of the GPU.

Which still doesn't account for the actual architecture differences in the GPU and the PS4 GPU giving better results by default in GPU bound scenarios, let alone speaking of the bandwidth increase that was never actually spoken on.

Basically games will have to be patched to have any performance increase, unpatched games won't have access to the second GPU and therefore run just like before.

This is disappointing, especially since the minimal upgrade in the Xbox One S did give some performance benefits without the need for patches.

I feel like this has been known for awhile and nothing Sony has said would lead people to believe otherwise. The improvements will overwhelming be for games released from here on out.

It's not a direct comparison. The pro is a totally different animal, and could potentially break games running them if they didn't run the same. It'd be great if more devs went back and patched their games to use it.
