Why didn't Sony just release shots like this back when they officially announced the pro? I feel like it would have cleared up a lot of confusion and hesitation for people.

Sony PR isn't exactly full of the smartest people out there. They're embargoing console features till the 7th for goodness sake.

They should be out there full steam ahead with these comparisons too.

I have a 4k hdr tv. Cancelled preorder because I am seeing way to much of reducing the capability of the pro so its backwards compatible with existing games. I will wait till the library of pro capable games are out and about. If it looks like its worth then I will go for it. Till then this is a wait and see. For that matter I want a back-in game or two or maybe a white console to replace my destiny white ps4. Not seeing any reason to rush in. If I was into the PSVR then I probably would jump in.

I was encouraged by the verbal descriptions of what super-sampling would do, but still, they were just verbal descriptions. Seeing actual comparison shots is a whole other level. It is proof, whereas before we just had statements and assurances. This I can see with my own two eyes and judge the difference.

I saw Shawn Layton on Geoff Keighley's show yesterday. Geoff asked him who the Pro is meant for. He started by emphasizing how similar it was to PS4, then said it's for "people with 4K TVs" and "people who want just a little bit extra oomph." I was disappointed that he said nothing about benefits at 1080p. He seemed to be downplaying it, underselling it, saying it was nothing more than a "little bump."

On the one hand, it annoyed me. But on the other hand, I get it. They don't want to alienate 40 million PS4 owners. I would've done it differently myself -- you can boast about power and can talk about 1080p improvements without alienating your existing customers -- but they didn't ask me.

Those Titanfall 2 Pro screenshots look great. Makes be feel better about getting the Pro without a 4K TV.

Yeah, it's an impressive difference. I look forward to seeing more comparisons like this.

I don't think people want S level improvements. They want to just run the Pro at normal capacity for unpatched games so games with unlocked frame rates will magically perform better.

Getting a Pro on launch for 1080p benefits, but... Having to exercise so much willpower right now to avoid getting a 4K HDR TV.

Want to wait at least til next year, made the decision that I'm done with LCD as I'm never satisfied with the black levels, so OLED is the only option. Also want Passive/FPR 1080p 3D and think WebOS on LG tv's is lightyears ahead. So LG OLED is the only option, but 4K HDR 4:4:4 10-Bit Gaming Mode needs better input response; here's hoping for the 2017 range.

And if they can get a 42-55" out of the door for sub-£1800 with E6 PQ, better peak brightness and tighter motion handling, that'd be the cherry on top.

Took the week off work too, lol.

It is confusing as to whether it will have PRO support at launch. Odd thing is Sony mandates it have PRO Support, but I just assumed they meant out of box. The back of the PRO console box also feature Watch Dogs 2. That doesn't mean it wil have launch support either, I just assumed it would be ready to go day 1.

I think Sony have stated that multiplayer modes won't benefit from Pro enhancements in order to keep things level for everyone

multiplayer games can and will have enhancements. They just can't target higher frame rates than the standard version. They can even have more stable frame rates

I originally ordered mine within minutes of it going live, but I later got Amazon Prime and thus canceled and recombined a few of my orders to get the Pre-Order discounts and such.

Fingers crossed that they ship it on Monday, but Tuesday with 1 day in transit wouldn't be half bad either.

They won't. But BF1 will get native 1080p instead of a dynamic resolution, and most likely a more stable framerate.

They won't make 30fps MP 60fps MP.
