You're honestly better off going for a traditional high capacity external hard drive.
You'll be wasting your money with a SSD, as not only will you continue to have low capacity, but the PS4 wouldn't really take advantage of the speed benefits.
Where are you getting this from? My external SSD is significantly faster than both my SSHD drive and the stock internal. If space is your primary concern then fair enough but the speed increase is significant.
I use the WD Elements 2tb and have never had an issue, and is what I just hooked up to my PS4 Pro. It's fairly cheap on Amazon.

I might even recommend going with the 3tb as it's around the same price as a lot of 2tb drives elsewhere.
Boost Mode is fairly underwhelming. Don't get me wrong -- it's nice that it tends to improve lots of games by providing more of constant 30fps where there were dips before.
On the other hand I thought you'd get more games jumping to 40-60fps but that's really not happening. I should have known since it's just increasing the CPU and GPU clock to full speed and not doing much of anything else with the CU's etc
It's a nice feature and I'm glad it's there, but if I didn't have a Pro, knowing what I know now I would not be running out to buy one because of this.
You can now enable your ps4 as main even if you have not deactivated the other one.
This helps because there were fraud cases and now digital shares are harder.
I somehow doubt that given the PS4 doesn't support TRIM, and generally doesn't take advantage of the speeds offered by an SSD, even given an internal one. I highly doubt your speed increases are 'significant'.
I have a kingston 480gb ssd internal and a 3tb seagate external rocking on the Pro. It's a fantastic combo and the ssd load times for bf1 are amazing. With the addition of external drive support, what would be a good SSD size for an internal? 250 seems too small, 500 seems reasonable, 1TB seems like overkill for the price? Trying to get the best bang for buck on performance increases from the OS and usable games on SSD. Plan on putting an 2TB external HDD to store games that aren't in use or move around from internal to external as needed. Looking at picking up a Pro very soon with a 500 SSD, if you have an SSD currently what are you thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Are there issues with cloud saves right now? Getting errors as well for Horizon uploads.
Also, PLEASE tell me I'm missing something, but are we not able to click Options > Clear List in the notifications anymore? They can't have overlooked this when they redesigned it right?

Well I'm moving mine back and forth without issue from an internal SSD to external hdd.Say I have everything moved to the external hard drive and I want to upgrade the internal drive. Will the PlayStation also need to reformat the external drive or can I just move stuff back from the external onto the internal drive once replaced?
Depends on your definition of significant I guess, but all benchmarks I've seen say otherwise, as does my own personal experience. You aren't talking light years difference, and it varies between games, but to suggest SSDs are a waste of time with the PS4 is not accurate.
Also does it make a difference whether its got a power unit or not?
Yes. In the storage settings there should be an option to move games from internal to external and vice versa.I was part of the beta but couldn't test the external HDD option as I had no empty ones. But can I hook up a USB 3.0 ext. drive and move already installed games from the internal HDD to the external?
Connected/formatted a 1tb portable and moved over a few less important and/or lighter footprint games to test out just in case a save file or something somehow gets corrupted or the games crashed hard. If it holds up over time I'll install to it directly, but for now returned to installing to original internal as the default, move over when game priority shifts.
Seems to work just fine so far.

Something seems wrong with my update. I didn't know that there was an update, but it downloaded while I was at work , I go home to play and it says to use network features I need to install the update. I go to install the update and it says it is version 1.21, but the notes are for version 4.5..what? I back out, and go to the update system option in the system settings, and see 4.5, but I get some type of error. I try to delete the update, and download it again but I can't...........b/c I can't use network features until I install the update, but the update file must be corrupted or something. What to do?
Edit: I'm on a PS4 Pro if that matters.

What are you even getting at with that question?
Here you go.

Played Bloodborne DLC last night to test out boost mode
and...
Pro purchase justified
Is the difference really that noticeable?
I have a 1080p screen and I'd have to disagree, Pro is worth it even for me.except BF4, which does exactly what you're saying it doesn't. it's going to be a variable thing. some games will benefit more than others. it's a great addition though. and just adds to the reasons to buy the pro, because lets face it, there really aren't that many to begin with, especially if you're not a 4k TV owner.
And now, I see that you can't restore save games from USB unless the game is already installed on the PS4. Guess I gotta download my entire game library to restore all my saves. Thanks, Sony!
New Zelda has framerate problems and had 98 metacritic. Bloodborne is far from impossible, and controls very well, even with framepacing issues, enough of the hyperbole.
Frame pacing is still of, but the issues are a bit less frequent. It also holds 30 fps more easy. It's an improvement but still not in a good state.
I'm aware of what a fps cap is, just wasn't sure so many games were locked. Silly me.1. You should have known based on all the reports from beta users what to expect
2. You do realize that if a game is capped at 30fps there could be a 1080ti in the Pro and it would still run at 30fps right?
All they had to do was allow me to clear it. Why remove that?
I really love the game but come on.... why lie?
