PS4/XBox One Launch Prediction Competition

PS4 Date: October 26th, 2013 (13 year anniversary of the PS2!)
PS4 Price: $450 [I expect a $400 and $500 model, went with average for best point
potential, just in case ;)]

X1 Date: November 15th, 2013 (12 year anniversary of the original Xbox!)
X1 Price: $400

PS4 Date: November 3rd
PS4 Price: $450

XBone Date: November 17th
XBone Price: $500

Sunday launches. More people will show up on a weekend.

Xbox One release date- November 5th, 2013
Xbox One price- $350 (I could see a subsidized version for $200, but I don't know if the rules allow 2 guesses)

Playstation 4 release date- October 29th, 2013
Playstation 4 price- $450

I think both consoles will launch with the 2 biggest shooters; Xbone with CoD and PS4 with Battlefield.

I agree with these dates. I would be shocked if the Xbone is that price considering the 360 + kinect is still $299.

I say :

PS4 - oct 29 for $450/550 premium
Xbone - Nov 5 for $500/600 premium.

PS4 Date: 10/29/13 - coincide with Battlefield launch and exclusive content
PS4 Price: 450 - 1 sku

XBone Date: 11/5/13 - coincide with CoD Ghosts launch and exclusive content
XBone Price: 500 - already confirmed 1 sku
Hmm yeah, pretty smart actually. I can see that happening.

PS4 Date: November 8, 2013
PS4 Price: 399$

XBone Date: November 22, 2013
XBone Price: 449,99$

I don't expect any date/price announcements at E3, but here's my guess:

PS4 Date:11/12/13
PS4 Price:$450

XBone Date:11/16/13
XBone Price:$400

PS4 Date: 11/15/13
PS4 Price: $400

XBox One Date: 11/29/13
XBox One Price: $500

Do you all seriously expect Sony to launch with a $100 deficit between it and Xbox One, with it being the more expensive option? Get real, Sony isn't trying to price themselves out of the competition yet again and narrowly overtake Microsoft over 7 years. Sony is aiming to gain as much of a foothold as they can with the release of the PS4 and will likely try and ride this wave of great pr they have for the extent of it's duration.

I think both consoles will have $350.00 entry models and more expensive $450.00 skus as well. I wish you could actually design your own PS4 deciding what size hard drive it could be supplied with and peripherals as opposed to a model that has a larger hard drive but peripherals you may not necessarily want

PS4: November 15, 2013
Price: $499

XBone: November 22, 2013
Price: $499

I stand firm with these dates, unless production issues come up.

PS4 Date: 31 October 2013
PS4 Price: $350

XBone Date: 19 November 2013
XBone Price: $400

OP: Make sure you save a copy of the thread at close. It is possible to edit some posts without triggering the "Edited" note at the bottom.

Both consoles will launch with base skus at $349.99 and $449.99 premium models with more peripherals and larger hard drives. I see Sony launching earlier and if I were them I'd position myself to launch either late October or very early November, just in time for the Black Friday rush. Microsoft will launch in that area as well but I don't believe they'll have the launch lineup to combat Sony's

I'm in, though I'm much more interested in how close I actually come.

PS4 Date: November 5th
PS4 Price: $400

Xbone Date: November 12th
Xbone Price: $400

Microsoft pretty much confirmed that there is only one sku, and I believe Sony will do the same. Multiple sku's cause market confusion and fragment your audience. I think even Nintendo is going to phase out the lower sku. But I think to offset the lower sku option, both will have some sort of contract option which will include Gold and Plus services.

I agree with you Sony will launch earlier, my prediction was a week, but if the reports of Microsoft being 6 months behind are true, they may push it as close to black Friday as possible, while I think Sony will launch late October/early November.

As for launch games, it's funny how everyone is confusing Microsoft's "15 exclusives" as being there at launch. They said within a year of release which means several could be holiday 2014 games, so I agree with you Sony will have a better launch lineup, especially when Sony showed real progress 3 months ago.
