I mean sure it's new but it's been almost a year now...I still find it rather painful to view friends list to see who's online or to create party chat with friends. I've definitely been more disconnected from my friends through the PS5's OS. Weather that be messaging my friends, creating party chats, seeing who's online, etc... all of these behaviors personally have dropped drastically since being on PS5.

Well despite watching dozens of videos during the beta of how to install the M.2 SSD I still went and managed to ever so slightly mess it up anyway! 
Nothing serious, mind. My 2 TB WD SN850 SSD with heatsink is installed and working, currently moving (disappointingly slowly) a number of archived PS5 games on my external 4 TB Crucial X6 SSD to the new M.2 drive. This just hammers home how basic the PS5's copy/move features are when you cannot do anything else with the console while the files transfer (unlike on my 4 year old Xbox One X!).
No, I managed to first scratch the innards of my PS5 trying to remove the side panel. I was taken aback at how hard it was to get it off so put more force in than I needed to at which point the cover came off very fast, causing some noticeable white scratches with it. Great start! Sure, you can't see them with the panel in place but I know they are there. That's what's so damn annoying.
Installing the SSD was relatively easy or so I thought as I put the PS5 back together and plugged everything back in. I turned the console on to be greeted with a request to update my profile but nothing came up about formatting the new drive. Puzzled, I rebooted my PS5. Same result. The Storage section only showed the Console and External drives. Fearing the worse, that my PS5 was defective or that the drive itself was duff, I unplugged the PS5, removed the base... again (God, how I hate that thing!) and checked to see if the drive was correctly inserted.
Turns out it wasn't. Duh! So I removed it then reinserted it, remembering from those many YouTube videos, that the drive when not tightened down sort of pops up slightly at an angle. Anyway, I reinserted the mounting screw but, this time, decided to try my PS5 first before putting everything back together. That's probably a good time-saving tip for anyone else about to install an internal M.2 SSD, by the way.
I have come across a couple of issues though with the new firmware. One, when going to Storage > External Storage all my archived PS5 games were at the very bottom of a very long list of PS4 games on my 4 TB SSD. There's no way to sort by PS4 or PS5 games, that I could see.
The second issue is a puzzling one. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Resident Evil Village, both PS5 games, which were archived from the internal Console storage to my external SSD make space are greyed out in the Move to M.2 SSD section for some reason. The PS5 says I cannot move them because they are being moved to the Console storage! No they aren't. They were both moved to the 4 TB drive from there a few months ago where they have remained.
Does anyone know how to fix this as I want to move both from the external drive to the M.2 SSD.
*UPDATE*
Reinstalling both games to the new M.2 drive fixed the issue as the archived copies on the external drive became selectable and could then be deleted. Clearly this is a bug, possibly the games glitched out when they were moved/archived, but I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else comes across the same issue.

No more themes on PSN store.
No more themes on deluxe editions of games.
Sony doesn't want to sell them anymore.
Maybe, at most, the settings section of the PS5 UI could have some color customization.

Trying 3D Audio via TV speakers(I'm not technically using TV speakers, but a 2.1 system) in Immortals, woah it's kind of trippy. Definitely feels more like there's a center channel, the characters voice seems to come from the center now rather than just being balanced on both left and right, and objects can move through space more.
It's not going to trick anyone into thinking TV speakers are a 5.1 system, but it sounds way more 3D-ey than two speakers

I totally forgot about that, you are correct, but iirc isn't that more of a problem on Xbox than PlayStation to begin with? I know COD has zero screen tearing on PS but it was a huge issue on Xbox without VRR

I understand what it is but it never seems to compact properly. My other space was at 97 GB. I factory reset my PS5 and reinstalled my PS5 games and it now sits at just 20GB. I think the issue is, and what a lot recommend against, is ever installing PS4 games to anything but external storage.
Thanks man. Shame it doesn't include a settings cog. infuriates me that that's seperate.

I found the answer to be No.
I checked after updating the firmware last night. I have 5.1 home theatre (or whatever it's called) as my sound output in the audio options and the new options regarding 3D audio for TV speakers is greyed out.

Sorry, don't know the answer to your question but this is why I didn't go Samsung. They always have some sort of issue with their storage devices and I hate Samsung Magician. I also have had two previous older SSD drives in my PC that eventually had issues so never again.

It started doing that to me with this update. Been playing the ps5 version with the ps4 disc in all week just fine. Now everytime I turn the ps5 on it tries to reinstall the ps4 version.

You can do both on the PS5 AFAIK, but to stop it, you probably have to unfollow the PS4 version and to set the context menu option- which allows you to switch between entitlements
to default to the PS5 version.

Is there a thread for recommendations of M2 SSD's that work with the PS5? Also ones that come with a Heatsink? I am thinking of getting at least a 2tb one, but have not followed enough to know which one is the best but also comes with a heatsink.
I wish it was as easy as MS made it for the Series consoles. You buy it, plug it in and done...no worrying about opening the system, adding a heatsink etc.

You can't use both at the same time on PS5. You must use your TV audio with the new 3D stuff OR your home theater. As of now, there is no virtual 3D audio for home theaters, but Sony said they will bring it in a later date.
I tried both, 3D is pretty cool, but 5.1 or higher is better
still a very surprising feature, imo.

If you are using the soundbar via ARC from the TV, you can change the soundbar selection in that PS5 menu to TV, and then those options become available, and it allows you to calibrate through the soundbar - which is what I did - but I haven't had time to try any content I know to work well on phones, to see if it works as hoped.
I have a funny feeling, the console is reading the TV's identifier to have knowledge of the TV's speaker specs and relative positions, and reading the TV internal setting for whether the TV is on a stand or wall mounted, so its algorithm would have false info if using a soundbar instead of the TV internal speakers.
Makes me want to try the PS5 3D audio on the spare TV's excellent 60watt fluid magnetic speakers.
