PS5 ROM keys leaked

Cry more about it. A very small subset of the people who emulate actually own the games. There's nothing wrong with the concept of emulation. The reality of it is that most people who "emulate" pirate.

Only on forums do we see the class of delusionists who refuse to acknowledge reality. Which is piracy is synonymous with emulation.
I'm sure it's fine when Nintendo provides you their shitty emulators when you keep your subscription active rather than letting you own retro games like you could on older Nintendo systems? What happens those systems die on you, what if you want a good experience or other features? Are you still a terrible pirate even if you've bought a digital license in the past. What if you have the cartridge sitting next you?

People talking about emulation in emulator thread and then one of the retards comes and shouts "piracy, piracy, piracy!". Why the fuck do that? This topic was about emulators, other os and fixes for games that never got PS5 patches (or even PS4 Pro) - no one fucking said "yes, we can pirate games now!".

What the fuck are people going on about? I came here to see the latest on the ROM keys and I see a bunch of pointless prattling about spec differences between pieces of hardware.

Its CDS

Console Derangement Syndrome

You have over 5GB more for gaming and higher memory bandwidth on both the PS5 and PS5 pro. So games would run better than on the steam machine

You're not accounting for emulation overhead or the PS5/Pro CPU being less performant than the one in Steam Machine. And also the CPU lacking features that Zen 4 has, since it's a Zen 2 architecture.

Mine is still on 9.0.0 and put away in case I ever want to jailbreak it. I haven't really felt much of a need to.

I'm in the same boat, mines on 8.50 I think, I want to jailbreak it but I cant really be bothered. I do need to find my jailbroken PS3 though.

Once people realize how big some PS5 games are I think it will curb piracy to a degree. Returnal is pushing 200GB for example. It's going to take the average person an entire day to download/extract/transfer this to their system and those in third world countries will struggle to even get the download done.

Returnal is 50GB+ (but not even close to 100GB), most PS5 games will be around that size.

PC games are often 100+GB and I doubt this aspect do much to stops piracy... more and more people have fiber connection even in third world countries.

And if you buy legal digital games you have to download this data anyway (so whole day in some parts of the world).

I would argue that people saying

"early 20s and short on cash, this kind of news was a godsend, but now I have more games than I can ever play."

Are implying piracy to some extent.

If your car dies and you have spare tires, are you entitled to drive? Nope you have to fix your car, then drive just as you have to fix your console, then play. When you purchased the console, you purchased it to play the games on those consoles. It was sold specifically for use on the console that was designed to play it. Only in software do people have this foolish sense of entitlement.

Never once have I advocated against emulation or piracy. All I'm advocating against is telling lies. We all know 99% of people are doing it to steal games. If you want to do that, feel free to and I don't chastise you or anyone for it. What I call out is people who lie.

If you want to, be proud of it and say it with your full chest. Just don't pretend that it's for any reason other than that..... The only ones who get a pass on using the excuse of game preservation are those who actually work on the scene to develop the emulators and those who actually work to dump the isos. Everyone else is just benefitting for piracy purposes and trying to hide under a false cloak of "preservation, mods, etc".
