No, it just didn't make any official changes/fixes for PAL units.

Not even BC? I just came from my friends house where PES5 is now working and it didn't before, he's just not sure if it was on 1.91 or 1.92.

Can anyone else confirm this?

It revises the compatibility list, for example Tekken Tag doesn't work anymore (probably because since it was really unplayable with 1.9 they decided to turn it off until they can emulate it better).

Yeah they've been making lots of little changes to the BC, breaking some fixing more, with each of these minor updates for Europe but never admitting it.

The official line was:

I kinda whish it was something else tho.

Time to try out the Eliminator mode. :)
Seriously man, get a new TV.

yeah, i remember a firmware update where ZOE2 PAL was supported and kotaku reporting Sony hadn't touched BC for quite a while.

i don't see why they don't say clearly they've updated the BC with some titles, for example Silent Hill 3 is now playable too. It's not that they randomly start to work all of a sudden, they add specific games to the list because they know they'll work in an acceptable way.
Then again, judging by the way things work over SCEE and their excelent ps3 support, i doubt they really know what is being updated in each new firmware.

Isn't that what the compatibility site is for?

So how many hours till US update?

Oh yeah, THANK YOU SONY FOR MAKING MY PAL SILENT HILL 3 WORK!

That's not true though. Every firmware update has had some BC update/improvements in it for US and PAL systems.

i know, that's my point. if they said they have improved it, we wouldn't get reports saying otherwise, even if they actually improved it.

I guess it's set expectations as low as possible, and deliver more.

That's actually a pretty good update (again). Kinda sucks that the Skate demo is being held off again, but the DLC seems to be well priced... I was expecting $10 for MotorStorm.

Anyway, hopefully this will all upload soon.

What the shit?

I've played the demo with every character and their atlernative costumes I could bust someones nuts if Super Puzzle Fighter doesn't get here soon.

So the Motorstorm pack is a deal? lol

Let me bet the track would have been sold 1$ and also the same for the gaming mode. :lol

Finally, Sony is giving us decent updates on the Store!

I hope they keep it that way from now on.

They have a new Senior Manager guy working the PS Store, and it seems he's kicking some ass in there.

still no skate demo?

god damn the psn store fucking sucks.

Edit : how do you know which demos are coming out anyways? the store hasnt even updated yet...im confused.

Lol.

yea gee excuse me if its a bit much to ask to get a demo they've already had for almost 2 weeks to pop up on the store.

Especially the fact that this means 360 users get the full game before we even get the demo , thats really weak.

im just pissed cuz ive been waiting for this demo since the 360 got it...get my hopes up every week and get let down every week :(

Ok, just logged off after a dozen of Eliminator races. How's it? Very fun.

Here is how it works.

As soon as the boost is available after the race starts a countdown begins and the last in the pack gets eliminated at the end of it. This not an "elimination per lap" race. The countdown is always ticking so whoever finds himself in the last position when it reaches zero is out. This means a race can actually end even during the first lap. There is no laps count indeed. Once a guy is elimitaed, the countdown resets. Also, since the countdown never stops, it adds a bit of strategy to the race. Say you are last but you are close enough to the second to last guy to attemp a takeover. You might want to wait for the countdown to reach -5 secs before surpassing him cos that would mean instant death for him. Got what I mean? It's a bit like passing the bomb.

That's not all.

Countdown can be set to be of 20 to 60 secs by the host, meaning a 12 players race with a 60 secs countdown will last exactly 11 minutes.

But here comes the cool part: the "shockwave" and the "boost death". They can be both turned on or off by the host.

The shockwave is exactly what you are guessing: when the eliminated explodes, the shockwave of the explosion affects whoever is nearby him.

The boost death option makes it so that once the countdown reaches zero, the eliminated player doesn't explode immediately but basically becomes a barely manouverable rocket you can try and direct into the pack in front of you in order to cause damage. If the shockwave option is set to ON, you can easly figure out what this means.

Once you are dead, you become spectator. As such, you can watch remaining players via the standard behind the vehicle view. You can also voice chat with everyone. While rather cool, this "mode" is affected by some serious hiccups resembling lag issues (basically u see vehicles teleporting from time to time - hope they fix this).

Ah, forgot to say wrecks of those eliminated stay on the track. They dont disappear.

More general stuff I noticed. I guess there were fixed with the latest patch:
1 - The XMB Players Met section finally shows players you met in MotorStorm.
2 - Voice chat during loading screen doesn't screw up near the end but stays crisp and clear.

Why all the fuss about the Skate demo? We will get it eventually. Just enjoy the new demos for the time being.

The problem is you can't even count on the thread title week after week. Why is this thread ever started before the PR is released? It's literally four pages of hope and heartache every single week. Even when Sony delivers, there are people still expecting the stuff in the title and since the stuff in the title is so rarely 100% accurate, you've got people like our friend therapist here who still have faith in their own personal wish list.

Isn't there a better way to do this every week if you're going to do this every week?

I was so certain...why Sony...whyyyyyyyyyyyy

Well, the blog post did say that they are still working with Sony on it, so that would mean it's not submitted to format yet, wouldn't it?

The updates are getting big enough lately that I will probably just leave off the (blah, blah, blah) in the thread title next week.
